Vehicle Detail

Offered here is a 1999 Ford Contour SVT. For the sake of honesty and easy viewing I have decided to break the listing down into two headings: The Good, and The Not-So-Good. Here we go... The Good - New brakes all the way around. Less than 2 years old. - New alternator. Less than 2 years old. - New catalytic converter. Less than 2 years old. - New coil in cylinder #3. Less than 2 months old. - Black leather interior is in great condition (no tears, stains, etc.). - Power windows, locks, driver's seat, and cruise control all function without a problem. - Moon roof doesn't leak and functions as it should. - No rust on the body. - New battery. Less than 1 year old. - UPGRADED CONTOUR SVT CUPHOLDER! The Not-So-Good - Damage to the driver's side rear door (see picture). In December 2008 I was hit by drunk, uninsured, unemployed welfare recipient. The drunk driver's lack of insurance combined with his unemployment and welfare status meant that the court couldn't award me any money for repairs. Fortunately Contour doors are easily found at most auto salvage yards and the repair can be handled by any competent mechanic. - Light scratches on the rear bumper (see picture). I purchased the car with these scratches and received a quote from a local body shop that was $260 to repair. - The A/C needs to be recharged. - The driver's side exhaust is missing the canister (see picture). - Slight paint fade on one part of the roof of the car. - As you can probably tell from the pictures, both side skirts are missing from the car. The driver's side skirt was damaged beyond repair during the accident mentioned in the first bullet point. I took the passenger side skirt off for symmetry purposes and still have it in my possession (it will come with the car). A replacement set of matching side skirts can be purchased online for $171. - The "Check Engine" light is on and the computer is giving code P0420. As most SVT owners know, this is often a "phantom code" and can be eliminated with the installation of $16 mil-eliminators. - There is a misfire in cylinder #3 being caused by oil leaking into the cylinder and fouling the spark plug. My local garage performed a compression test (compression is good) and now believe the leak is coming from a faulty valve seal. Prior to the oil leak the car ran like a champ and is still very drivable at present. The Title After spending two days working with the people at my local title office we were able to determine that this car's title is meant to be rebuilt/salvage. An error was made when the title was transferred between two previous owners and the title somehow got switched to "original" due to a human error in a Michigan title office (hence my originally being issued an "original" Ohio title). I have corrected this issue and the Ohio title is now accurate. After speaking with one of the previous owners I learned that the car was involved in an accident that damaged the rear of the car and that it was consequentially repaired, brought up to code, and issued a rebuilt/salvage title. My apologies over all of the confusion that has taken place with regard to the title and e-Bay pulling my two previous listings due the discrepancy. I trust that the issue is satisfactorily resolved and that this auction will now run to completion. Really the only thing preventing this car from being in fantastic mechanical condition is the misfire in cylinder #3. For as long as I have owned it I have always had any mechanical issue quickly resolved by a professional, have held to a regular schedule of routine maintenance and oil changes, and have always filled the car with premium fuel. Just a few weeks ago I drove this car to the east coast and back without any issues. This would make a great car for an SVT enthusiast looking for an SVT that's in overall good shape with a few cosmetic and mechanical peccadilloes. I am dedicated to being as transparent as possible with all of my listings and have divulged all known issues with the car in a straight-forward manner. If you have any additional questions or would like see a picture of anything in particular, please e-mail me prior to bidding. Kelley Blue Book value of this car in "fair" condition is $2890. Please check out the video tour of the car below! The car is being used during the auction listing, therefore actual mileage will be slightly different than what's listed above. No reserve! Bid to win! Thanks for looking!
