1970 Chevelle SS 396 4 Speed Hi Guys, heres your chance to get a real SS at a reasonable price. I will list the major parts of the car and briefly discribe each. ENGINE-1970 396 with 1971 heads. The motor runs good and is very clean inside. All cylinders have 150 pound of compression. Cam is hyd. and just big enough to give the idle some chop. Intake is Edlebrock as is the carb. Mallory dist. (Eventho the engine is a 70 396 it is not the original engine) The exhaust is brand new. I purchased Dynomax knock offs 2 1/2 inch TRANS- Muncie trans that shifts very well with newer clutch. Hurst shifter that works well. Trans tunnel had been cut. Car has console braces under the carpet but the console is mia. REAR END- 12 bolt Posi with 3:31 gears. Rear end has been sandblasted and detailed. All the orignal F41 suspension sandblasted and painted. BODY- The body overall is a solid car. However it does have bondo in the car. The floors and trunk are in good shape but not perfect. Very little patching required. Their is the standard plastic in the lower corners of the fenders and behind the quarters. The paint is poor and the car will need to be repainted. A previous owner has replaced the panel by the trunk and when he did he cut off the rain gutter. A new one will need to be welded back on. I have a new panel for the repair but not the gutter. The rear bumper and pad are brand new. The tires are brand new and have less than 100 miles on them. INTERIOR- The seats have been redone by previous owner. The carpet is newer but average (would consider new) Door panels decent and dash pad real nice. New dash housing. Headliner has been redone but in a fabric from a wrong year. Dome light missing. Package tray bad. What doesnot work? Blower motor doesnot work. Wipers moved about 2 inches and went back to rest. I messed with them now they dont do anything. Dome light,clock radio. REAL SS? Yes it is true without some documentation it is very hard to tell. First this car has the L on the trim tag which indicates Super Sport (Kansas only) Car came with bucket seats and console-Factory tach 5500 red. Two fuel lines-Complete F41 Suspension-Disc brakes with the proper 70 proportioning valves-factory SS hood-Big block steering column. GM SS emblems throught the car. The rear bumper I removed had aGM SS bumper pad. If this is not good enough proof for you then you will need to pay 20K more for a complete numbers matching car.
