Vehicle Detail
This Oldsmobile belonged to my late husband who had gotten from his ex mother in law who had purchased it new. He bought from her to fix it up to be his show car, old time drag racing machine. He spent many hours working on the car in our garage and had just installed the scoop to cover the new carburator when he was killed in a car accident in our Suburban. It is time to let it go and find a home with someone who loves to tinker and baby his precious olds. It has always been garage kept and in most cases even in a car cover in the garage. He had most of the parts on the car chromed. It is all original.. Oh how I wish I had paid more attention when he told me what he was doing to the car, he was a mechanic by trade and was always working on it. He called it PLUM GONE and since his grand daughter loved purple thus the purple wiring. He was killed before he got the hood painted from adding the scoop so it does need painting. The mileage is accurate and was only taken out when no rain was in the forecast and when it was not too hot to bake the paint. He was extremely particular and you dare not get to close to it. It is loud and runs, a mans man car as he put it. High performance re built 355 (CI) aluminum high rise intake and too many high in parts to mention, A-1 Condition, B & M rachet shifter, tach, and stewart warner gauges. Lots of dipped chrome assorted parts and steel hoses. A MUST SEE !!! 74 Olds Block 395558 and Heads 411929 Interior is in absolutely mint condition, no rips, tears or stains of any kind anywhere. A vehicle to be proud of once you paint the hood. It was scheduled to be done the week after our wreck but since I was also seriously hurt it did not get done. Oldsmobile sold as it where is. No warranty either implied or stated. I wish I could tell you more but I simply did not listen too much when he talked about it, which was always. A $500 non refundable deposit is required to hold Oldsmobile until transaction is complete. The buyer is responsible for full payment of the selling price direct to the owner of the vehicle. The buyer is responsible to arrange pick up and transportation of the Oldsmobile once the transaction is complete. If you are interested in inspecting I would be able to schedule an appointment that is convenient to the buyer. The title is free and clear of any liens, and can immediately be transferred upon sale. The buyer is responsible for insuring this vehicle once they take ownership of the vehicle in accordance with local state laws. 1974 Oldsmobile is sold as is, so please ask any and all questions regarding this vehicle before purchasing. If there are any other areas you want to see a photo of please let me know and I will take and send. I am new at this and was not sure what all you might want to see. On Aug-06-10 at 05:59:34 PDT, seller added the following information: He got the car in the late 80's from the original owner, his ex mother in law. In the mid 90's he started working on it to customize it. A lot of the parts were purchased from Summitt Racing and I went with him to Nashville to have some of the exterior hand dipped in chrome. I do not remember anyone ever riding in the back seat and only a few times in the passenger front seat. He usually would go alone for a drive in it, it was his pride and joy, he would take it to hot rod shows and local car shows. He was very proud of it and I would love for someone to enjoy as much as he did.
