Vehicle Detail
NO RESERVE -- 1976 C3 CORVETTE COUPE PROJECT CAR -- NO RESERVE My goal with this Corvette was a total frame-off restoration followed by a resto-mod rebuild. The car has been completely dismantled. The doors and T-tops have been removed and the body sits in a custom made wheeled stand. The windshield was chipped so I removed the glass and trashed it. I will be moving in the near future and will not have adequate garage space to store and complete this project. This car has always resided in Florida and when I purchased it, I also received a wrecked 1982 Corvette coupe for additional parts. The '82 car has since been stripped. I kept any poterntial usable parts and recycled what was left. What's left is a 2.5-car garage and a 20 x 20 storage building brimming full of parts. WORK DONE TO DATE As mentioned, the car and frame have been separated and the frame has been stripped of all components, including brake lines. The frame was sandblasted and interior cavities sprayed with Eastwood Rustproofing. The frame was painted with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator primer and Eastwood Chassis Black gloss paint. The frame is perfect. There was not any rust damage at all! Various other parts have been sandblasted, primed and painted. Small components were cleaned and polished in a vibrating tumbler. Finished pieces are sealed in marked plastic bags. But there is still a lot of work to do. The interior has been completely stripped with only the wiring remaining. Reusable Interior trim components have been carefully packed and stored. REFERENCE LIBRARY Here is a listing of the books and manuals that I have acquired to help in the rebuilding: How To Restore and Modify Your Corvette - 1968-82 Chevrolet Corvette Restoration Guide Hayes Corvette Repair Manual (1968-82) 1974 Chevrolet Factory Service Manual with 1976 Service and Overhaul Supplement Corvette Body Repair Guide (Vol 3) 1976 Corvette Factory Assembly Manual (2 volumes) NEW PARTS I have acquired the following list of brand new parts for this project. Most are in original boxes and bags, never opened: 2 new seats (backs and seats) New interior carpet kit New dash pad New high volume water pump Hooker long-tube headers 4 New brake Disks ( cross drilled and slotted) Complete set of roller valve tappets Front lip spoiler (Eckler's) New wheel bearings (inner/outer, front and rear) New rubber weather stripping seal kit New correct side badges and rear CORVETTE lettering 2 different sets - Aluminum valve covers New blueprinted 350 engine block (original number matching engine is intact, except carb is missing) New factory key blanks More new parts that I probably forgot I have. EXTRA PARTS From the '82, I salvaged both front and rear bumpers and covers, headlight buckets, gauges, tail lights, limited slip differential, many interior trim pieces, telescoping tilt steering column, steering wheel, cargo hatch cover, unused jack and lug wrench, front sub frame, drive shaft, more small pieces.
