Beautiful example of the 1954 Chevy Bel Air convertible. I have owned this car since 1987 and have had it garaged safely for those years. The person I bought it from in Union, NJ also had it garaged since he bought it. This is an original convertible, not a modified after-market conversion. Not many of these cars still exist. The transmission is a "Power Glide" automatic and the engine is a Chevy Blue Flame 6 Cylinder, both original. I have just replaced the gas tank and the battery and the car is running very nicely. The exhaust system is also relatively new and in excellent shape. The frame is in excellent condition, no sagging. The color is dark metallic blue (which is not the original color) with a white convertible top. The paint is chipping off in spots (see photos) and the original light blue paint is showing through. Interior is very nice with only a few small imperfections visible. The top is automatic, but there is a leak in the hydrolic casing causing difficulty getting the top back up from the down position. Chrome is mostly solid with a few spots of flaking and/or rust which I have tried to photograph. There is a rip along the interior top section of the rear zippered window (see photo). Dash lights, radio, and gas gauge are not working. Headlights and blinkers are fine, oil, battery, and temperature gauges are all working well. Windsheild wipers work on a vacuum so they can be sluggish if your foot is on the gas pedal! This is the original 6-Volt system, it has not been converted to a 12-Volt system. The buyer will also get fender skirts (primed and ready for painting), convertible boot, two replacement chrome bumper parts (for damaged bumper areas pictured), shop manual, and any other extras I have around the garage. The car has been sitting more than it should, so some gaskets may need to be replaced. I would prefer local pick-up so you can see the car before purchase.
