Up for sale is a 1997 Rio Red Mustang Cobra Convertible with Black Leather. I'm selling is car because it's taking up a spot in the garage and I have too many cars in the driveway. Cosmetically this car is beautiful, truly must be seen to be appreciated. The engine is strong as can be, runs like new and sounds awesome. Mechanically everything works Great with the exception of the transmission which I'm told needs new synchronizers. It works just fine but will grind from 4th gear to 5th gear if you do not double clutch. For that reason, this car would be excellent for a mechanic or someone who planned to modify it anyway. Every part is stock except for stainless braided brake lines in the front. I had the car repainted less than a year ago (same rio red stock paint) as I accumulated a few scratches parking it downtown and I wanted to keep a uniform look to the paint. I also had new headlights installed which I think makes it look like a brand new 1997 Cobra. I would consider the interior to be in above average shape for a car from 1997 with 87,000 miles-the leather has some minor cracking, but still looks and feels excellent (no tears or rips anywhere). Some things that are new to the car include the convertible top (2 summers ago-1,000 repair, well done and looks great), and a new alternator. I have done my best to take care of this car while keeping it as close to stock as possible and have listed it accurately-it will need minor transmission work and new tires-no surprises. This car will truly be someone else's gain and I will be sad to see it go. The car will come with a car cover, convertible boot cover (not pictured-it's a leather cover that goes over all the mechanical parts of the convertible top when it is down), and a haynes manual for the car. I really hope this car can go to someone with more mechanical abilities than myself who will be able to fix the transmission and have a perfect condition 1997 cobra on their hands. The car has always been garaged and never driven in winter.
