Up for auction is late 1930 Ford Deluxe 4Dr sedan with 32,900 original miles owned by one family and sitting on blocks in a barn since 1961!!! You can watch this very original Ford being driven for the first time in 60 years on WWW. YouTube search for title - P7300168 - . This very original example of Ford's top of the line for 1930 was owned by a farm family outside Quakertown, Pa. from new. It was stored on blocks every winter and used only to run the few miles to town all it's life! The wood framed body is in near mint condition with the wood substructure and sheetmetal in near mint condition. The body and doors are still in perfect alignment with no wet or dry rot!. The only minus is the mice ate the back seat and the fabric roof insert has deteriorated from dry rot.( Rear seat springs and frame in very good condition) It has the original 3 shades, dome light and dome light switch! When I filed the points and replaced a leaking glass fuel filter gasket, the old gal fired first time with no knocks! The generator shows a charge and the car drives with good brakes, tight steering, and no complaints! All this after almost 60 years in a barn on blocks!. I did have to replace one tire for the spare as it was very dry rotted and would not hold air. If you always wanted a Model A that has not been molested or had a thousand owners, this is it. You can drive it this summer in your neighborhood by adding fresh tires and a new wire harness.( The mice worked on that a little too!) Next winter you can install a new interior and top and have a really nice original old lady on your hands! I wouldn't tear it to pieces for a "total" restoration as it just doesn't need it! Look at the photos of the underside and you can see it is in great condition with no rust out! The only change I see is the original headlights where changed probably in the 40's for Guide sealed beam units with turn signals. The cowl lights where taken off and stored in the car for some reason. Very reasonable reserve is a fraction of what such a rare condition this Ford is in!
