Vehicle Detail
I purchased this 1977 Suzuki GT750 from a person who attended our Vintage Japanese Motorcycle show here in Minneapolis back in late May. It has a clean Minnesota title. The 1977 models are very rare and the last iteration of the venerable GT750 two stroke triple. The writing was on the wall for big road going two strokes in 1977 and the GT750B uses many parts from the soon to arrive GS750. This was the finest cosmetic example I had ever seen and had to have it. The paint on the fuel tank is PERFECT factory original with no chips, dents, or flaws that I can find. There was light rust inside the tank, but I have cleaned it thoroughly and it has presented no problems. I am hesitant to line the inside of such a lovely original tank. I would hate to see the paint finish compromised. The fenders are beautiful and the clear coat on the head and cylinder barrels is truly excellent. I assumed this beauty would be a carb-clean and timing adjustment away from being a clean runner. I was wrong. After cleaning the carbs the bike made a startling and distressing noise at start-up. A crank bearing was noisy. After a tear down with complete rebuild of the crankshaft with all new bearings, seals, connecting rods and a complete first over top end job, this bike runs like new. Bill Bune Enterprises in Anoka MN did the machine work and they are world renowned for quality and attention to detail. I have done 5 heat up and cool down cycles on this totally rebuilt engine and driven it lightly to about 3500 rpm. It runs like a clock. I also had a new o-ring chain installed. It leaks nothing and needs nothing! I have owned a few Suzuki GT750s and would love to keep this one. Alas, my business is suffering and I need to recoup some of the money I have spent on this beauty. Take a close look at the photographs. I don't believe you will find a better example of an original GT750B anywhere. Ride it or show it, she's a beauty. Upon dis-assembly for the rebuild the outer engine covers were professionally polished, fork seals replaced, and steering head bearings serviced. The front brake system was disassembled and flushed with new seals and DOT 5 silicone brake fluid used. The rims and spokes are gorgeous. The tires are Continentals with plenty of tread left and no cracks. The seat is as fine an original GT750 seat as I have ever seen, above and below. The previous owner had taken it off and was using an after market gel seat. Look closely at the photographs. The exhaust has a few little scratches and a small ding or two but is solid and very presentable with all the baffles in place. It burbles along happily at idle and is quiet, as a GT750 should be. It is idling merrily in the picture of the gauges. There is also a new genuine $uzuki air filter freshly oiled and installed. This is one beautiful GT750B. It rides like new and starts instantly with a whiff of the starter button or a prod on the kick starter. All electrics work as the day it left the factory, including the digital gear indicator. Even the wiring from the handlebar switches is still buttery soft. The previous owner told me it never spent a night outdoors. I believe him. A $500 dollar deposit via Paypal is required within 72 hours of the auction end. Balance within 10 days. The balance can be cash or a check, but the check must clear my bank before the bike leaves my possession. I will keep it up to 30 days for you in my warehouse at no additional charge. You are responsible for shipping arrangements, but I can help someone load it onto a truck. The reserve is set at a very reasonable level for such an excellent example. No zero feedback bidders. Your bid will be removed and you will be blocked. I am open to all questions and can send you a close-up shot of anything you might like. Let me know.
