My favorite Boy Scout truck is up for sale. This is a 1986 Toyota 4Runner in very good condition except for the front end damage shown. My engineer father in law bought this new in 1985/6 and kept it for his third vehicle. I bought it from him in 2005 and have enjoyed its reliability and versatility. I hate to see it go but i can't fix it. The day before the lady pulled out in front of me, i had just recharged the a/c ( no leaks ) and installed $640 in brand new BFG all terrain tires. They have less than 100 miles. You can still see the molding ridge. I was going to keep this for my 15 year old son. Everything is completely original and works except for the rear bumper which has a receiver hitch and a professionally mounted CB. Positions 1 & 2 on the a/c fan speed selector don't engage, but positions 3 & 4 do. I'll include the custom snap-on tent for the rear end which makes this truck the ultimate outdoor vehicle and the CB with antenna. The shop told me the engine still cranks. It appears I have lost the radiator and condensor along with the front bumper, grill, lights, hood and driver's side quarter panel. The interior is in great shape except for a small tear in the outboard bolster on the driver's seat and splitting vinyl on the headrests. If it wasn't for the crash, this thing would go for another 10 years and then go to a third world country with a turret bolted on top. If you're good with auto repair or looking for a great parts source, this is the truck for you. I have had an offer from people at both shops where this has been estimated and lots of local inquiries. If someone gets serious with cash, I reserve the right to end the auction for a local sale.
