Vehicle Detail
1962 Impala Convertible Up for auction is a 1962 Impala Convertible. This car draws a crowd wherever it goes. It will be a hit at your local cruise night or car show. The car is powered by its original 283 motor and 2 speed powerglide tranny. It starts right up and runs good. The motor still has the original script valve covers and original air breather. The tranny shifts fine and does what it is suppose to do. A new exhaust system was just installed. The car has factory power steering which makes turning a breeze. The paint and body was done a few years back and still looks good. There are a few minor imperfections and a couple spots where a knick or scratch was touched up, but not very noticeable. Overall the paint is nice. The car has a brand new professionally installed air ride suspension. The ride height can be completely adjusted by the press of a button. Only the best parts were used from companies such as Air Ride technologies, Viair, ect. The suspension is adjustable by toggle switches that are located under the dash. You can set the ride height at whatever you like. There are gauges to monitor the air in the bags. This is a bolt on setup. Nothing was cut or altered. The car could easily be taken back to stock without any signs of being altered. The car also has a brand new front disc brake kit. It features cross drilled and slotted rotors, red calipers, and stainless steel brake lines. The car has a set of polished Coys wheels wrapped in Z-rated tires, 18s in the front and 20s in the rear. The interior is the car is original and in great shape for its age. The carpet was replaced, but seats door panels, and kick panels are original. It has the original AM radio in the dash and a CD player mounted in the glove box. There is a rare original accessories hazard switch mounted under the dash which still works. The Horn, fuel gauge, hot / cold lights, headlights, taillights, turn signals, speedometer, ect all work. The top was replaced a few years back and is nice. There is a new black boot included. The power top opens and closes nicely. The underside of the car has had a couple spots of rust repaired. The trunk floor was replaced, along with some patch panels done underneath. They were undercoated afterwards. The frame is solid. The trim on the car is original and in nice shape for its age. There are a few spots where there is some minor flaws, but overall its nice. The bumpers were re-chromed at some point and are not bad. All the glass in the car is good, the windows all roll up and down as they should. Overall this is a nice driver quality car that is going to make someone happy! If your looking for a flawless rotisserie restored car, this probably isn’t the car for you. If you looking for a car to enjoy and that gets a lot of attention, and can be driven and still taken to a car showe, it may be one to consider.
