The 1997 body type and styling is the same on that of the 1998, 1999 and 2000 ES300. This is my wife's car, and primarily drove on highway from to work on it (highway miles are easier on a car than stop-and-go city). The car runs very well, and you should not have any mechanical or drive-ability issues with it. The car got its full service tune-up, and other regular service and repairs done in a timely manner. The tires with good tread, the car is easy to maintain and doesn't cost as much to own as a, It always pays to take care of your car. For a used vehicle the car runs and drives very well, and would make a good vehicle for its new owner. I feel confident in driving it long distances, and have done so without any issues. These car go well over 300k miles easy, and still runs like a top and has never let down. Safety inspection and emission passed ready to go... As for issues with the car: There is a small scuff mark on the left front bumper, which was a scrape with another car's bumper in parking lot. Witch was notified to insurance company & I did get it buffed out, and is barely visible now.
