Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE!!!! We bought this car on ebay in October 2008 for our 40 mile a day round trip commute to work. Mileage at purchase was around 98k. Our intention was to convert it to run on wasted vegetable oil but then our business took off and our needs have changed and now my husband bought a truck last weekend. So I'm listing his car on ebay to help pay for the truck. Tires have less than 10k miles on them. They have been rotated one time since purchase late last summer. They are nitrogen filled Michelin HydroEdges--the best tire for this vehicle without changing the size (14"). New Bilstein shocks. Everything electric works on it from the windows to the sun roof. The vacuum locks work perfectly. A/C blows cold. The dash looks like new which is rare for this vintage--usually it's dry and cracked. Recent service: front end alignment and tie-rod and bearings replaced. Bushing and shifter replaced so it's tight and doesn't vibrate. All of the headlamps replaced all around. All of the signal lights have been replaced--new bulbs. Oil pan gaskets, valve cover gaskets replaced. Thermostat hose replaced. Freon was just added and has already been retrofitted to accommodate the new freon. Windshield replaced last summer. This is the last and best year the 300 series engine blocks were made from solid iron. These cars will run forever and make fantastic commuter vehicles. A consistent 28 mpg on the highway so long as you're not driving like Mario Andretti. Diesel prices were better than gas prices for awhile, but you can forego stopping at the gas station and collect your own wasted vegetable oil from your local fast food restaurant and make your own fuel. This is arguably the best car to do a conversion and there are DIY kits out there for a few hundred dollars. Or a professional can do it for you for around $1500, depending on where you live. With the disaster in the Gulf, it may be more important to you than ever to free yourself of dependence on crude oil. Well with this car you could stop putting money in the pockets of big oil companies. It's not for everybody, because collecting and filtering is not as convenient as stopping at a gas station, but if you have the time and the inclination, you'll save money while you also save the environment. And perhaps best of all you can fill your tank with a completely domestic and repurposed waste product! If you want to find out more about this car please call us after 5:30 on weekdays at 662.269.2204. Or you can leave a message anytime and we'll check them when we get home. All service and maintenance done by Auto Medic in Tupelo. The folks there will be happy to give you their opinion of the vehicle. Call or email me to let me know if I missed anything! We reserve the right to end the auction at any time. MicheleOn Jul-31-10 at 13:02:09 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE, SATURDAY JULY 31, 2010: Hey everybody! Thanks for your interest in the car. She really is a beauty and I know that those of you watching and/or bidding are folks who are looking specifically for this vehicle. You know, then, that this is the last and BEST year for the 300 series. I just wanted to add that we are now fully committed to the auction only. We began this auction at the absolute lowest, bargain-basement price at which we were willing to part with this car, and well below our purchase price at auction end in Oct. 2008. So please hear this: we no longer are selling the car outside of this auction. This auction is IT! Someone will win the Benz at the end. Lucky You!! In other words, please don't bother to contact us outside of ebay to negotiate a deal. We had the perfect gentleman buyer that we were willing to sell the car to in the very beginning of the auction, and he has since changed his mind and decided to play the auction game instead. But thanks again for being so interested and have fun with this! After all, life is a game! :) Cheers, Michele ----------------------------------- THIS AUCTION HAS NO RESERVE!!!!
