Vehicle Detail

0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false Up for sale is a 1974 Porsche 914 1.8L. California registration is current and good until May 2011 and is smog exempt! Brand new exterior paint in an awesome orange color, and $400 just spent on new horn, rewiring turn signals and fixing headlights. The tires are like new, and breaks and break pads are in good condition. The wheels are sprayed primer black and can be left as is, or re-painted. It has an aftermarket 916 bumper on the front, and the interior is in good condition. The seats have a couple tears that are tape repaired and the dash has a couple cracks, but has a nice dash cover in place. Targa top is in good shape but will need new rubber gasket. The millage on the odometer is 78,712 but not sure it is actual Millage. It has a Pioneer stereo and JVC speakers but may need new fuse to get working. The car is a salvage title but frame is straight and the car is as rest free as a 1974 car can be. No rust on any of the typical 914 trouble spots (i.e. floor pans and battery tray) and only light surface rust in Spare tire compartment. The engine has carburetor, and running but it is in need of a tune up. It has the typical 914 1st gear & reverse problem, but It shifts well into all other gears and easily gets into 5th gear on the highway. You can get into 1st & rev, but it is hit or miss, and starting out 2nd is not a problem. It may just need new bushings or shift kit. The only other issue I have found is the passenger door lock can only be unlocked form the inside, and the rear truck latch does not latch or lock. I’ve been as honest as I could with the description and all in all, it’s in pretty decent condition for a 36 year old car. Cut and paste to view video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c19NI0qGbGI Side Note: This car will be featured in an up-coming episode of the new BBC America car show “Top Gear.” I would love to finish up this project, but my houses needs new plumbing and I have to sell. Please email me for more details or to see it in person. The car is being sold as-is and without warranty. Full payment is required within 24 hours of end of auction. Shipping is responsibility of buyer and must be picked up within 48 hours of end of auction. I will facilitate with delivery and will bring it to a pick up spot within 10 mile of zip code 91601.
