Vehicle Detail
This is a 500cc, twin cylinder, one (Amal concentric) carburetor dirt bike. It has the orginal gas tank, frame, rear hub, seat (no rips and in excellent shape) and engine (matching number with the frame). It has aluminum Excel rims, a custom chain tensioner, an aftermarket (?) aluminum front fender, and a working (well it is a Lucas light, the bulb sometimes glows) headlight. The front forks are Ceriani-type forks but I cannot find any identifying marks, the seals are new. I am told they are not the stock front forks. A year ago, and less than 5 hours of running ago, the upper end of the engine was rebuilt by Deer Park Cycle of Eldersburg Maryland. The tank has the original paint and only one minor dent, visible in the photos. The bike starts on the first kick, leaks just a little oil from the seals when it sits, and runs very well. It sounds great through an aftermarket spark arrestor, with most of the exhaust system being the stock two into one configuration. It has been driven moderately on tight trails, on neighborhood streets (but it is neither titled, licensed nor street legal), and is in excellent condition. This isn’t a show bike or a restoration, but a solid running, great dirt bike. A recent article in Motorcycle Classics had an article about this rare piece of Triumph history. The bike was bought with what looked like a new Smiths speedomter. I have no idea how many miles are really on the bike, but it hasn't been 100 miles since the engine work was done. I will include a CD version of the owners manual and parts list. Ride it, don’t hide it. If you have any questions about the bike contact me.On Jul-28-10 at 05:34:05 PDT, seller added the following information: This is a 500cc, twin cylinder, one (Amal concentric) carburetor dirt bike.
