This 1994 Ford Mustang Cobra convertible was the work of Ford's Special Vehicle Team (SVT) and became the third Mustang to pace the Indy 500. This car is number 754 of only 1,000 made and it commemorates the 78TH Indy 500 run on May 29, 1994.
Exclusive features on the Pace Car are a unique front fascia and rear spoiler, 17-inch five-spoke wheels, another discreet chrome snake on each front fender, and a leather-lined interior with trendy white-faced gauges (including a 160-mph speedometer). The Pace car is powered by a modified version of Ford's 5.0L V-8 engine that produced 240 horsepower, SVT applied larger valves, higher-flow exhaust manifolds, extruded-aluminum rocker arms with roller followers, low-drag accessory drive, and lightened flywheel.
Our West Coast car is Rio Red with a saddle top and saddle leather interior.
It has a 5 speed transmission and all of the power features (windows, steering, brakes,) and many options (air conditioning, cruise, leather, Alpine stereo).
The car has a clean Carfax and runs well but the convertible top is showing signs of age.
