Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Engine: Original engine. Same design as the venerable 4.0L with longer stroke crank. Radiator, water pump, starter, alternator, all have been replaced in the duration of ownership of the Jeep. Most recently the starter was replaced about 2 years ago, and the battery is fairly new (?). Hoses are in good shape, power steering works fine, Jeep does not overheat and starts easily. Fluids: All look fine. Oil was just changed about a month or so ago, and coolant and a nice bright green. Original jack and handle under the hood. Suspension: Rear leafs replaced in 2005. Squeaks in front suspension on tight turns, can be easily fixed (?) Jeep drives nice and straight. Driving on the highway at 70mph the Jeep is very stable and tracks nice and straight. Brakes are good all around, and have always been professionally done in March 2006 @ 139,500. Brake system flushed Jan 2008 at 149,300. Tires new in August 2005 @ 135,500 Spare is on original rim; in good shape with decent tread and aired up. Exhaust: Catalytic converter March 2005 Muffler sometime prior to this, around 2002 (?) (Emission/Smog pipes were replaced and repaired around 2005, though I cannot find a record of this) Interior: Larger driver’s seat for comfort. All gauges function, though oil pressure gauge seems erratic, and we have never bothered with the clock. All seat belts work and seats are in good order. Radio does not work due to a leak in firewall seal area, which has been fixed. Heater works, defrost works, nice and hot. Passed state inspection last year and is current until 2011. All lights work. Problems/bad news: The radio doesn't work. It's not a great radio anyway, but it stopped working a while back when water leaked on it. It was determined that the windshield to body gasket was to blame, a new one was installed and recently resealed, and now there's no leak. The carpet was pulled up and the floor dried out thoroughly during this time, so there's no hidden rust or mold anywhere. The front end squeaks when turning tight turns. The steering and suspension is nice and tight, but something is squeaking up there. Always passes inspection, though. There is a small dent in the back end where a delivery truck bumped the car on a parking lot. Not really a big deal, and you can sort of make it out under the rear license plate. The worst part was the damage to the license plate holder, but I have since repaired/straightened it (the license plate holder) out and it works nicely now. There is a very small tear in the top in the very back about an inch long, down near the belt line. It is really small and I just noticed it today as we were taking photos of the Jeep. If the winning bidder desires, I will glue in a patch with top material (I have my own convertible and have experience with such repairs). Again, it is very small! As with any vehicle this age, it does leak a little. This Jeep leaks just a few drops of oil, but not much. SHIPPING: Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges and arrangements. There is a vehicle shipping company here in St. Louis called Passport Transport (http://www.passporttransport.com/) I have dealt with them in the past, and they are very professional and have been in business for many years. They deal in specialty, antique, exotic cars and ship vehicles in enclosed trailers. They have a very good reputation. You are not in any way obligated to use them, but they are a company I have experience with. If you would like to pick up the vehicle in person, that is fine too. ****Vehicle, title, and keys will NOT be released until payment has been received in full and has cleared the bank**** ****Again, please do not hesitate to ask me any questions about this vehicle. I have done most of the maintenance and upkeep on it and know it in and out quite well, so I would be happy to help.****
