This is an all metal Kubelwagen replica that was built about 1960 by two brothers in Reno...It was built on a 1955 Volkswagen bug chassis...36hp motor.. It had been in storage for almost 35 years...I bought it...I cleaned it up...had new windshild installed, installed a new battery, replaced the master and wheel cylinders and lines..replaced the fuel valve, cleaned and tuned up the motor...and painted it camo tan...(it is all metal).. had the upholstry redone in camo canvas.. new tires installed (5)...installed a horn and turn signals (still need to be wired up) installed a rear view mirror and military tail lights... It starts easily and runs well....but smokes a slight amount when cold...the transmission makes a noise in low gear..but not bad and is very driveable...even though it only has 36hp it feels like it could climb a tree as it does not weigh much...I do have top irons for it, but have not had a top made... it does not rattle .....really a kool car to drive...lots of fun... It still have the last plate on it...1975... I have the registration and signed title (Nevada)... THIS THING IS A KICK TO DRIVE..
