1987 Ford Escort with RARE Mazda 2.0L DIESEL engine from the factory. Engine runs well and diesel engines generally last to about 300,000 miles before any major work is needed. The car averages fuel mileage in the 40 - 45 MPG range. That's why I bought the car originally! The 5-speed transmission, clutch, brakes, tires, and cruise all seem to be in good shape. The AC compressor needs a clutch/pulley and is currently not working. New exhaust installed recently and car does pass local Colorado emissions tests. Speedo is showing 57,xxx miles but does not show digits in the hundred thousands. Actual mileage is probably 157,xxx. The car was originally from Virginia and does have typical body issues for a car of it's age. I have replaced 2 doors that had rust issues but have not had them painted to match the car yet. I was planning to paint the entire car at once but have not done so. As you can see from the pictures, it does need paint and body work to look its best but since it's has the diesel engine, it would be worth repairing and saving. I also have interior parts to refurbish the interior. I bought matching front and rear seats and carpet from a very low mileage car. I had planned to install all of these when the car was painted and the body work done. The dash has a crack in it but the rest of the interior will look great with these newer parts installed. I have driven the car for a few thousand miles since I purchased it and think that it will be running for a good long time. This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if it is sold.
