Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1983 Dodge Ram 150 Custom Truck with 116294 miles on the original engine. The Truck has a Clear title. We have been restoring this truck as a father, son project for the last few years. We are selling it because the garage is full of other car projects. We have over $2000 invested so far in this restoration. We have set a resonable reserve. We have replaced the entire exhaust system from the exhaust manifold to the tail pipe, including a new catalytic conveter. This was originally a one-barrel 225 slant-six with power steering, and we have upgraded it to a two-barrel super-six setup. This truck has a lot more get up and go after the two-barrel carb was installed. This included replacing the intake and exhaust manifolds, along with a rebuilt carburator. We have replaced the timing chain, and have installed an electonic igniton system. The transmission is a manual 3-speed with an overdrive. We have replaced the clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing, along with both U-joints on the driveshaft. The transmission works fine, but if you are going down a hill in second gear, it wants to jump out of gear, so you have to keep pressure on the shifter handle. We have rebuilt the brake system by replacing the front calipers and pads, on the rear we replaced wheel cylinders, and pads. We disconnected the E-Brake because it was sticking. The parts are included to reconnect it. We have replaced the passenger door, fender, and front bumper, and installed running boards off of a same year truck from a local salvage yard. All of the lights on the truck have been replaced and are working, including the ones on the running boards. New headlights, tail lights, and an aftermarket dome light have been intalled. We moved the spare tire from under the truck to inside the bed by installing a mount. We found a used topper for the bed, which matches the new rims and tires. The tires are brand new with less than 200 miles on them. We have not adjusted the front end allignment because the truck drives straight and smooth. The front shocks have been replaced, and the rears are still solid. The truck was custom ordered with a heavy duty rear suspension for a pick-up bed camper that it carried for years by the previous owner. This truck was drived to California and back twice by the previous owner with the camper installed. For a truck that is 27 years old it has a few imperfections here and there, such as a faded dash board, and small cracks in plastic parts, and minor rust. The frame is very solid. We have replaced the blinker switch mechanism in the steering column, the shifter boot. We have replaced the original radio with a CD player, and mounted the speakers behind the seat. A new rubber floor mat was installed last year, replacing the original carpet. New side mirrors have been installed. We have sanded and painted the rear bumper. Some rust is starting to come through the wheel wells, and there are a few small holes that can be patched. We have installed a battery disconnect because there is a draw somewhere on the electrical system. We think it is the memory on the CD player. If the truck is run everyday there is no problem, but if it sits for a week it will need jump started. That's why the disconnect is there. The engine has been repainted the original black, and the exhaust manifold has been painted. The Air Conditioner belt has been removed because the AC is not working and we never got around to converting it to R-134. The truck box has been removed and new fuel line installed from the tank to the carburator with a new fuel pump and filter. We treated rust on the underside, and frame while we were there. The hard to find Ram head, and steering wheel center cap have been found and installed. The rocker panels will need to be replaced, and are included in this auction. We had all intentions of restoring this truck, but just ran out of time. The truck is in great shape mechanically, it just needs a paint job. Other parts are included such as a passenger door, fender, front bumper, bumper guards, original one-barrel manifold, stock rims with tires, and various extra parts. I have been honest with the Truck's Condition. If you have any questions feel free to email them to me. SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY! There is no shipping. The truck must be picked up in person. Payment deposit through PayPal. The remaining amount will be paid in cash and in person. Good luck and Happy Bidding!
