A clarification of this car's model. Ebay only lists "Galaxie" for 1965. This car is a Ford CUSTOM, body style 54 sedan Built for police use. it is NOT a Galaxie. OK? This auction is for an AUTHENTIC VINTAGE collectible Police Vehicle. it is NOT a cloned -up passenger car. This vehicle was built, sold, and used for law enforcement use when new. We located the car in 1998, and after a $40,000.00 restoration, the car is returned to full like new condition. The vehicle has been driven by ME about 2500 miles after the full frame up restoration. The actual mileage on the frame and body is not known. Originally used as a Sheriff's car in Georgia, we restored the car to the exact condition of the village I resided in. The police equipment, official door insignias and lettering were supplied by the department, and a letter of agreement allowing the private use of the vehicle was given by the department. This car was displayed at Police Memorial Week in Washington DC several years and at other related shows and functions throughout the East Coast. If you are not a law enforcement officer, the lights and lettering must be covered in New York State while driving. They are intended for static display use at car shows ONLY. The engine is a 390 CI police engine, 10.5/ 1 compression with mechanical lifters, the pursuit engine. (notice the tall valve covers). The engine was rebuilt by Jasper Engines in Indiana, Ford Motor Companies official rebuilder. Likewise, the transmission and rear end were rebuilt and renewed. ALL brake, steering, front end and associated parts are new. The radiator was recored, all rubber prts in the car are new. Most all trim parts are NOS or replated. The interior is 100% genuine original materials, and the floor has 1 piece rubber flooring as new. The body was stripped to the frame and refinished in Dupont Chroma-Premiere Plus base/ clear paint. This is Dupont's finest finish materials. The dash pad and door panels were 100% replicated by Just dashes at a cost of over $2000.00 Equipped with power steering, and power brakes, automatic transmission. The car is equipped with an original GE two-way radio and light combination that was donated by the department. This car was part of our private collection, and is now offered for sale at a fraction of the restoration cost. This car is lacking NOTHING, and can be driven with ease and enjoyment. Vehicle is NYS safety and emissions inspected. Per EBAY policy, the lights are disabled and for static display use only.
