Vehicle Detail
Scarce 1969 Corvair Monza Convertible in cortez silver metalic (#2059). 62,785 original miles. Car in excellent condtion. Originally came from a Marathon Bulk Oil Distributor in Ohio that our son worked for. He collected Corvairs and this had been stored in one of his buildings until we bought it two years ago. Owner sold his business and moved to Florida and our son was asked to sell his collection. That's how we bought this cool collector car. It's been in storage since the early 80's and has always been garaged since we've owned it too. What a neat storage find car in all original condition, paint, interior - everything exactly the way it was when garaged in the 80's by the collector. Paint is original with no dings or body work. Small paint chips, a couple paint scrapes on the front left fender and a small wear mark showing primer on right fender edge (see pictures). Little bubbling on right rear fender next to trim on wheel well. A small paint crackling on engine hood. Chrome in excellent to near perfect condition with no pitting or rusting. Interior original - head rests recovered over existing vinyl. Carpet replaced. Brake pedal shows edge wear. Original black vinyl seats in great condition with minor wear, no tears. Black convertible top in excellent condition with hazing of rear window. Small tear in boot, (see picture), some snaps not working well. (None missing or torn) What we have done: New tires, new interior carpet, transmission and rear end pulled for inspection, new gears replaced in rear end. new battery, belts, engine gone through and replaced seals and gaskets, carbeurators rebuilt and tuned engine, new altenator. Comments: Remember this is the last year for the Corvair Monza series. Only 521 convertibles were made in 1969. As Corvair was being phased out many of these were actually hand built (as opposed to assembly line) For a Corvair restoration buff this is a perfect find, with no body damage, original paint and interior, excellent glass, all gadgets, knobs still on car, original wheel covers in excellent condition. Original AM radio and we're putting 4 corvair (extra option) wire wheel covers with the car. Kick plates, interior all have the normal wear of a 60K mile vehicle car. What a nice car to work with as a winter project! We've been driving the car around the local area, yes with the top down! We've taken lots of pictures but if you need to see something closer, feel free to contact me and I'll take more. Purchaser is responsible for pick up or delivery of this item.
