SHE'S ALWAYS BEEN MY LOYAL GOLDWING "CO-PILOT," BUT I THOUGHT SHE'D FIND RIDING HER OWN MOTORCYCLE EVEN MORE ENJOYABLE. WELL, INITIALLY, I MAY HAVE BEEN RIGHT, BUT I THINK I BLEW THAT WITH THE CHOICE I MADE. BY HER SECOND ATTEMPT, SHE HAD SCARED HERSELF ENOUGH TO DECLARE THE VTX MUCH TOO BIG AND TOO POWERFUL FOR HER. SO, THAT BIKE WENT ON THE EBAY AUCTION BLOCK, SOON THEREAFTER. THIS PAST MONTH, TOGETHER, WE SET OFF TO FIND A SMALLER REPLACEMENT BIKE. THAT'S WHEN WE CAME UPON THIS HONDA SHADOW AERO. SHE LOVED IT FROM THE MOMENT SHE SAT ON IT, THOUGH I'M THE ONE THAT GAVE IT A TEST DRIVE. IT APPEARED THAT WE HAD FOUND THE PERFECT MOTORCYCLE, UNTIL WE GOT HOME AND SHE TOOK IT FOR HER MAIDEN VOYAGE. STILL REELING FROM HER VTX SCARE, AND NEARLY VOID OF ANY CONFIDENCE (over two months had passed since her initial motorcycle training course on a Buell 500), SHE MADE IT TO THE TOP OF OUR STREET AND DECLARED THAT SHE WAS NO LONGER INTERESTED IN BEING ANYTHING MORE THAN MY GOLDWING PASSENGER. AND THOUGH WE'VE ONLY OWNED IT FOR ONE WEEK, YOU NOW HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR THIS EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL, CLASSIC, RETRO CRUISER TO BE ALL YOURS. GOOD LUCK BIDDING! SOME HISTORY: I'M THE THIRD OWNER. THE FIRST OWNER BOUGHT THIS SHADOW FROM LAWRENCEVILLE HONDA, NEAR ATLANTA, GA. HE USED THAT DEALERSHIP EXCLUSIVELY FOR ALL OF ITS SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. A DECISION TO RETURN TO CANADA ENABLED OWNER NUMBER TWO TO BUY THE BIKE WITH JUST OVER 20,000 MILES ON IT. ONE YEAR LATER, THE ARRIVAL OF THIS OWNER'S FIRST CHILD BROUGHT ABOUT THE DECISION TO SELL IT TO ME. The following is a list of known "imperfections": Driver's seat has a thin 12" scuff mark, width-wise, that may have come from a riding boot sliding across it (see photo) Right front fork has numerous tiny scratches in the brushed aluminum forward face (see photo) Aft section of exhaust pipe has 8" scuffed area along top surface (see photo - NOTE: Explanation given was previous owner's saddlebag rested on hot exhaust and scuff marks occured while cleaning the burned material from the chrome) Small blemish on the chrome of the aft tip of the rear fender guard (right side - see photo) Left chrome side cover (aft of ingition key) shows hazing (in an arcing pattern), obviously from a key chain or key contacting the cover while riding Light 1" scuff mark on top center of front fender -- does not penetrate fender's black paint (difficult to detect, but seen clearly in photo because of sun angle) Two mall scratches on rear fender underneath the right, aft section of the driver's seat (not easily detected from off the bike, unless looking well under the shadow of the seat - see photo) A few scuff marks in the right side of the chrome neck cover (see photo) Please realize that nearly all of these imperfections are subtle, and sometimes hard to detect, but certainly do not detract from this beautiful motorcycle in any way. However, I wish not to deceive any potential buyer by avoiding or hiding any of these facts.
