Vehicle Detail
1996 Buick Riviera. Just over 70,000 miles. The car has been in my family for a long time. Title has been transferred from family member to family member. I eventually inherited it from my grandparents (long story). The car was their grocery getter. Immaculate condition. (minus one dent in the passenger side fender well, see pictures) Its a sweet quick sporty 2 door, luxury car. Super clean inside and out 3.8 supercharged with traction control. Car has power seats, driver with power lumbar, power windows, locks, and mirrors, remote entry, cruise, automatic inside mirror, homelink, steering wheel controls, AC. Leather rear bench seat, sunroof, chrome wheels. Not too many with all these options. Car comes with stock factory chrome wheels and new tires. The car is clean and detailed, pet free and has never been smoked in. Clean and clear title in my name. Buyer is responsible for pickup. Cash or certified bank check only. $500 down payment via PayPal due within 24hrs of auction end. The only reason I'm selling it is because I recently had knee surgery and my SUV is easier to get in and out of, otherwise I'd drive it till the wheels fell off. The car feature's the GM 3800 Series 2 engine, known for being extremely reliable and a high mileage engine if properly taken car of. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks for looking. I've hosted the same pictures here:http://www.divshare.com/gallery/738797-dee On Jul-01-10 at 07:20:23 PDT, seller added the following information: Q: Hi , I am interested in your Buick, I also have a 1996 Riv like yours but in Diamond Pearl White that has twice your mileage, however loads of work done on it to keep it current. Yours seems like a nice car. My only concern is how is it mechanically, as well as the super charger , boost pressure, what work has the car required and repaired, I am in Canada, but this is not a problem so long as I get all the valid paperwork done whilst beforehand , so that all I have to do is to fly out and drive her back through the customs. Oil changes, how frequent?, super charger service how often if any?, drive belts? alternator?, ABS sensors problems /if any corrected? service books /owners manuals, remote controls are they both working? You said that the Title is clear, as well as any rust underneath the car or the trunk area? Any noise like clunking or the exhaust system? Any lights i.e. something need attention? sorry for many questions. A:Good questions! I know my grandfather kept the car in pristine condition. His last car (88 Buick Park Avenue) had over 300k miles! It received its front damage by a branch that fell in his driveway (see pictures). He never got the fender replaced. I believe he tried to get the insurance company to cover it but I don't believe it was high enough to cover the damage. I have gotten the fender quoted at $430 to get it fixed locally when I inherited it. I do not know about the super charger fluid, I checked the level when I got it and it was not a dark color but smelled horrible!! I replaced the serpentine belt when I first got it, about 10k miles ago. I didn't change the coolant fluid because it was still bright green. In November I went on a trip to Lexington KY and the check engine light came on. I went to a local Midas and they pulled code P0171. They charged me nearly $100 to clean an air sensor and sent me on my way. I've been driving it ever since with no troubles. I currently only have 1 key and key fob. There is little to no rust underneath the car. I can try and get pictures of the underside tonight. The only clunking I've ever experience was once, I quickly jumped the transmission into reverse and it felt like it slammed. It scared me and I immediately took it to a local mechanic and he looked at the car and said that it could be a bad transmission mount but was more than likely user error since I couldn't get it to do it for him. Occasionally going from Drive to Reverse is "smoother" than immediately going from park to reverse. That probably makes it sound bad but its hard to describe. All of the lights work, the rear brake lights have had the center bulbs removed. I thought it looked cool :) I will take pictures of all the area's you mentioned tonight and get them posted up. I've never sold a car to someone "international". I'm not sure if the title transfer would need to be any different than sold in the states. I just felt like I should state that upfront since I know nothing about an international title transfer.Thank you again for your questions!
