Vehicle Detail
1954 Chevrolet half ton short wheel base 5 window cab pickup in perfect restored show condition. Must see to appreciate. This truck is in impeccable condition. The photos of the underside of the truck show that there is no rust, but since I did not power wash the underside, it looks dirty. It it was powerwashed the underside would look like a new vehicle as well. But what would the point be? This truck is an every day driver that should be out and about in all weather for all to enjoy seeing. My reserve is low, consider that you are buying an expensive paint job and getting the truck for free. Color: Ocean Green (stock GM factory color, correct for year). Thistle gray interior and trim. Engine: Completely rebuilt 235 cu. inch 6 cylinder with hardened valve seats for modern unleaded gasoline. Transmission: Factory (granny gear) floor shift 4 speed. Electrical: New wiring harness, converted from 6 to 12 volt system with an alternator replacing the generator and an electric windshield wiper motor. Interior: Totally new seat, headliner, door panels, rebuilt gauges with new glass and factory new floor mat, double insulation throughout the inside of the cab, refurbished original steering wheel with sewn leather protective cover, new cab wind lace and gaskets on windows and door channels, all new control knobs, new glove box with factory owners manual inside, new interior roof and door covers, new heater core. Exterior: Short wheel base, 5 window cab, new bed wood and strips with stainless hardware, new rhino coated running board covers, ocean green base coat-clear coat paint and thistle gray bumpers, grille backsplash and hubcaps as factory for Korean war era, stainless steel exterior hardware, original 16 inch wheels with same spare. New tires. Brakes: Completely rebuilt brake system with dot 5 brake fluid and new master cylinder. Drive train: New kingpins, new steering joints, shocks, universal joint, restacked and bushed and aligned on a computer frame machine during restoration, new rear axle seals. Clutch is perfect, no noise, no slip whatsoever. Flaws: Light scratch barely noticeable on left side 2 inches long that does not show in photo, passenger windshield scratch from no wiper (original windshield, old glass scratch), drips some oil when parked (engine burns no oil whatsoever), odometer reading does not reflect the correct mileage as it was not working prior to rebuild, right door sometimes needs to be closed two or three times for the latch to catch,. A youtube video can be seen of this truck running on the road, title of the video is 1954 Chevy 3100 Pickup Ride. It was most difficult driving a stick shift while holding the camera, so the video is not so good. The vehicle is registered in Connecticut and is used only in good weather. You are welcome to come and ride or drive the vehicle. The truck has always been stored in my heated and air conditioned manufacturing company warehouse. Please do not bid if you are outside of the United States. Payment terms are 25% deposit within four days of the close of the auction, cash or certified check only. Balance within ten days.
