Very clean Long bed, step side California truck. Previous owner had since at least '64 and kept detailed maintenace notes until he died in 2000. Rebuilt straight six, driven daily now for 5 months. Have two kids and we can't all fit in it. Truck has no major rust and is very clean. This truck is in amazing shape for its age and was babied by the previous owner who kept detailed maintenance records since the early 60's. I have his notes from as early as 1964 continuing through 2000 when he died. I bought the truck from his son and went through the mechanicals to make this a safe, reliable daily driver. I added notes on all the work that I did. You can add notes to keep the history going. It has the original 223 straight six with the manual 3 speed transmission and column shift (3 on the tree). Minor rust spots but only on surface. Minor rust on passenger floor from old leaky heater core. Heater core has been recored, and rust treated with POR-15 and floorboards painted, ready for carpet. Has a couple of small dings, but otherwise straight. People love this truck and it gets thumbs up on the road daily. Engine runs cool at between 160 to 180 degrees. I have reciepts for all the work I had done, including engine work. This truck is very clean for its age, but it is almost 50 years old and is not perfect. It is mechanically sound, and I would be comfortable driving it pretty much anywhere. Has a small oil leak and I can't tell where it's coming from. May be coming from the oil cup on the original distributor but not sure. Likely easy to fix. Details: 5K miles on completely rebuilt 223. Head machined by Y-block guru John Mummert with hard seats, positive control valve seals, all new parts. Engine machining by Hap's Automotive Machine in Paso Robles. Completely rebuilt generator. Rebuilt carb with glass bowl. Pulleys, brackets, battery tray, etc. powder coated. Firewall and inner fenders painted. New hoses, belt, etc. (everything under hood was rebuilt or replaced). New clutch, brakes, front leaf spring bushings. New shifter bushings. Rebuilt heater core. Heater & defroster work great. New glove box insert, glove box door springs. 5K on coker wide whites. Rims painted red to match interior color. Safely seats 3 people. Three new 4-point seat belts with aircraft style buckles (safe for kids with shoulder restraints). Will work with kid's booster seats. Clean bed with no dents (orig. wood needs replacing). Almost everything works (lights, heater, wipers, horn, new glove box) Have detailed maintenance records since 1964. Only very minor surface rust in a few places. Clean California truck. All lights work, including dome light. Ready for you to drive and have fun.What it needs: Bed wood needs to be replaced. Needs headliner and carpet. Seat has one tear. Was in an accident at one time. Was repaired and painted but panels need alligning. Needs new window rubber (windshield, back window), window felt. Things that don't work: radio (original radio quit working recently), fuel tank sending unit (guage works but sending unit or float bad), lighter. Speedometer is slightly off and needs a different speedo gear It reads 50 when your going 60. Odometer has turned over once. Turn signal lever broken by my 7 year old son bench racing. Using a temporary long screw right now. Horn works intermittently. That's it. Everything else works. Ask any questions before bidding.
