Vehicle Detail
The TM125K made its appearance in 1973 and was called the ‘CHALLENGER’. The engine for this lightweight and schoolboy scrambler’s favourite was based on the Suzuki TS125 trail bike, with many modifications. It produced 20 bhp at 10,000 rpm on open pipes or 18 bhp if the silencer was fitted. The colour is quoted in the parts book as Aspen Yellow (Suzuki colour code 163). The fuel tank had Suzuki stickers and a blue/white stripe went round the back of the tank where the letters TM appeared. This is a very rare and hard to find vintage motocross bike. It is in fair condition, it starts right up and runs but the clutch does slip a little in the higher gears so it will need to be replaced. There is a small crack in the left side cover by the chain, but this cover is available at many used suppliers and is easily replaced with a few screws. The plastic frame covers are missing. The front tire is almost new, the rear is good. The exhaust is not original, but works. All of the missing or worn parts are available from many sellers on ebay for very reasonable prices so to restore this to original condition would not be very expensive if you can do the work. I originally got this for my 13 year old son to learn on but it is a little too much bike for him, so we are going to sell it and get a 4 stroke. I have included a stock picture of what this bike looked like when new, so you can be inspired. I recently saw a non-running basket case of this bike sell on ebay for over $500 so please bid accordingly. My reserve is fair and realistic. Any questions just ask. Thanks Please note that the milage listed here is only a guess since there is no odometer, and the listing requires that you put a number in the auction. Actual miles is unknown, not too relevant on a 2 stroke and can not be determined. Thanks.
