Heres an opportunity to own a true classic that is exceptionally well preserved. This 1968 Beetle is in remarkable condition inside an out. But whats most impressive is the way it runs and drives. You can hop right in this car and take it anywhere you could have back in 1968. It is smooth, solid and just a pure joy to drive. Very, very impressive. This VW has been in the same family from the time it was new until very recently, when I acquired it. I have a copy of the original New Jersey title, dated 2/1/68. The car remained stored indoors until it was transported to Florida in 2007 where again, it has been stored indoors. There is no rot on the car. This Beetle has just 44,310 original miles on it. This Beetle has been properly maintained. Recent work includes a new master brake cylinder and brake lines, repaired brake lights, new carb, coli and fuel pump. New fuel filter, new distributer, points and plugs. All of this work has been done in the last year. 1968 saw a host of improvements to the Beetle, especially to safety features on the car. Upgrades include larger front and rear brakes, an upgraded carburetor, head restraints built in to the seats, a collapsible steering wheel, larger tail lights, updated independent rear suspension, an exhaust emission control system, an external fuel filler, and redesigned bumpers and hub caps. Other features include a 1500cc motor with a 4 speed manual transmission, telescopic shock absorbers, and fold down rear seats. This car was repainted in 2005. It is very, very nice, but not new. There is a scratch on the left front fender that has been brush touched. The area of the roof above the doors has some slight pitting down inside the trim. Very minor. This car is nice enough that it recently won 1st place at a local VW show. The hubcaps are new. We do still have the original hub caps, and they come with the car. We also have new chrome headlamp trim rigs if you want them. The aforementioned scratch. A few small chips on the left rear quarter. Again, minor. The headlights, rear lights and turn signals work. In fact EVERYTHING works on this car. The interior outstanding. The seats have no holes, cuts, or tears. The carpets are like new. Absolutely remarkable. This car has the original radio, and it works perfectly. The headliner and door panels are also excellent. The 1500cc motor runs amazingly well. Obviously, it has been properly maintained. (we do have replacement water lines for the ones that are worn) The tire have good tread remaining. While there is some some slight surface rust under the car, it is basically clean underneath, and there is absolutely no rot or rust-through. The odometer reads 44,310 miles.
