Electrically and mechanically sound. My wife and I bought this Thing last year to cruise around the local lakes and rivers on the weekends. It cranks, idles, and runs good and gets lots of attention every time we drive it. The cam is just enough to lope but doesn't cause any driveability issues. Video of it cranking and running is in my album linked above. It's not a hot rod, but it has enough power to pull out in traffic and cruises good at 55 - 65. It had been repainted before we bought it. It is red, but the original color was orange. It looks really good from 20 feet. There are some rust spots on a couple of the doors and the front fenders. I have close-ups of those in the album I linked. Also, the rear driver's fender was damaged last year when a wheel came off due to impropperly installed lugs. I fibergalssed the fender and reinstalled it. My wife and I have recently taken more of an interest in off roading, so we have to either sell the Thing or convert it for off roading. We feel like it is too nice to chop up, so we figured we'd try to sell it here first.
