Vehicle Detail
Title has lein shown on it, has been paid off for 3 or more years, I will be getting the lein release paper this week to give to you when you pick it up. Jeep Showes 174xxx on the dash, but I have replaced alot of the drive line in the past several years I am thining down on my cars, and this is my daily driver (when I am at home). I drive this Jeep around town all the time, take it to Home Depot, the grocery store, auto parts store ect. It runs and drives good, has some carborator issues, Its a new carburator, but the dumb people that replaced the motor "fixed" the carb. Now its out of adjustment and a little tempermental in cold weather, but its been like that for 2 or more years. Jeep has a motor craft battery out of a police car in it (high cranking amp and heavy duty), The front brush guard is off the 79 cherokee I used ot have, and one of the front fog lights works (last time I used them). the altinator was replaced I guess 2 years ago, maybe 3. Picture shows center caps missing on the drives side, I have all the center caps for it, and you can have them. I have had this Jeep since Dec 2005, I have replaced the transfer case with a low mile used one back when I first got it (thanks to the idiot that instaled the wrong seal on the tail shaft) I have replaced the ball joints and u-joint on the drivers side (I think it was) I have replaced all the front brake parts, repacked the front wheel bearings. The transmission was rebuild/replaced just before I got it. I had the motor replaced with a low milage from a 79 Cherokee that I used to have, thanks to the idiot that replaced the timming chain in the orginal motor. The replacement motor, like I said was out of a 79 Cherokee. It has a new oil pump, timming gear set, all new gaskets including the head gaskets. The water pump is new, all the hoses are new and had all new tune up parts instaled as well as a new distributor. Has a new flywheel and starter also. I had all this work done in 2007 and I have not drove the jeep that much since, I guess maybe 6000 miles at the most. I work out of state, and it sat for almost the entire year of 08 and most of 09. Like I said it gets drove around town, I have not drove it over 50 miles one way since all the work was done, I have a newer crown vic that I drive for work. The heat works in the winter and the AC works in the summer (I have not used it yet this year) I changed it over to R134, so its easy to recharge. All the windows work, I think one of the rear doors is slow, I have a a used motor I can give you. I have replaced acouple of the motors with new ones as well as the plastic gear strips. The 4x4 works great in 4 High, but will no longer go into 4 low, either the Vacume actulator (can get used off eBay for a good price) is bad, or is has a bad vacume line. I have not crawled up inder it to look, I seem to recall that it quit working just after the motor was replaced, and the dumb mechanics that replaced the motor hooked up a bunch of vac. lines up wrong, even had the windshield washer hooked to the carb. So the line may be broke, or just unhooked, but it used to go into 4 low very easy (after I had fixed it the first time) and the 4 high works great. The Jeep has the common rust on the frame and the skidpan for the fuel tank is shot. The Fuel gauge, oil pressure gage and temp gauge all quit at the same time, I assume its the dash that went bad, and I have a used one that I will give you. I have replaced the temp sending unit, and I think the oil sending unit, with no change, that is why I think its the dash. The rear brake drums are warped, thanks to another dump person that did not know how to set up a break lath. So it needs rear drums (about 20-30.00 each) rear brake shoes, and one of the axle seals is leaking, I think its the drivers side. I just keep checking the axle fluid level, adding when it gets a little low. LIke I said, I do not drive it out of town much at all. The interior is in pretty good shape, the drivers door pannel is bad, but over all its in good shape for the age and millage. This Jeep rides and drives great, I kinda hate to sell it, but I have 3 Wagoneers a CJ5 and 3 cars. I need to sell 3-4 of them since I can only drive one at a time, and since i end up out of state for work all the time, they just sit here and rust away. Oh the lower rear fenders are starting to rust out, there is some rust starting on the front fenders under the wood grain, but over all its in pretty good shape for the year, comming from just outside of the rust belt. I am sure that I forgot to add some stuff to the list of good and bad, if you have any questions, just ask. I can send you ore pictures as well... 500.00 NON refundable deposit with in 3 days of the close of the auction, with the rest in CASH whne you pick up the Jeep. You could drive it home I guess, but I would reather you bring a trailer since the fuel gauge does not work and the rear axle seal leaks. But I guess it would make it to were ever you are driving it, I have not had any problmes going around town, or to the surroundng towns, but its an 1987 model, and its a Wagoneer, so its up to you. I CAN NOT deliver, you HAVE TO COME and get it. This jeep is SOLD AS IS WERE IS. If you are local, come on by and take a look at it, its taged and insured, you can drive it, but NO joy rides. On Jun-01-10 at 11:24:11 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: I went to the corthouse today and had them stamp it were the lein was paid of sometime in 06. So the title ti free and clear. I thoguht they still gave you papers to attach to the title, but its all differnet and done through the computer, I did not even have to have it stamped as when you go to transfer the title, it would had shown up clear anyway. I guess I am behind on the times....
