This immaculate, unmodified 1992 Renegade presents an incredible opportunity for the YJ Wrangler enthusiast. Only produced in limited numbers between 1991 and 1994, the Renegade is indeed a very rare Jeep, especially in blue. The top-of-the-line Renegade originally carried almost a $5,000 premium over the standard Wrangler, and included factory features like: 4.0 Liter (242 CID) I-6 Engine5-hole aluminum wheels, 8 inch wideFull size spare tireHighback seats with Trailcloth FabricOff-Road Gas ShocksPower steeringFog lamps (integrated into the front fenders)Leather wrapped steering wheelRenegade striping (door letters)Floor carpeting (full width, and on insides of body tub)Front carpet floor matsExtra capacity fuel tank (20 US gal.)Color keyed fender flares with integrated bodyside stepsFront and rear bumperettes (plastic)Courtesy and engine compartment lightsCenter console with cupholdersInterval wipers These vehicles were sent as optioned Wranglers to Auto Style Cars in Detroit, where the Renegade Decor Package was installed, then shipped back to Jeep for delivery to dealers. Renegades all have a small sticker on the driver's side door, right above the latch denoting the visit to ASC (see pictures). I believe mine has every option besides the hardtop and the automatic transmission. It does have the rare factory air, which blows cold. This was my second YJ Wrangler, and easily the best one I’ve ever encountered. The pictures speak for themselves, and this vehicle has clearly been garaged for most of its life. I purchased it three years ago from a local lady owner who had never taken it off-road, or really even outside of her garage. At the time I bought it in 2007, the Jeep had 38,000 original miles. The Renegade was originally purchased from Freedom Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Lexington, Kentucky. The first owner used it as primary transportation for a year or so, but soon married. The Renegade ceased to be a daily driver, and was relegated to weekend status. For security reasons, the first owner removed the locking glove box door and the lock from the center console (to deter theft). Ultimately, the vehicle came to sunny Southern California with the first owner around 2000, where it has remained ever since. The previous owner purchased a number of BestTop accessories for it, including the bikini top, deck cover, seat covers, and trail cover. All of these top-quality goodies are included in the sale. The original gray seats show no rips or stains, and the all-weather seat covers match perfectly. The drivers seat cover does show minor wear. Amazingly, the original vinyl rear window bags still exist and are included. I don’t want to sell this vehicle, but am moving back to the East Coast and recently purchased a pickup that is a bit more suitable for distance hauling. I’ve used the Renegade as my daily driver for the past three years, and maintained it religiously. The original black carpet front floor mats are included, although I installed heavy-duty Husky Liner all-weather rubber floor mats throughout the vehicle. BestTop plastic door entry guards and the matching tailgate guard have also been fitted to the vehicle. A Covercraft “Evolution 4” car cover was purchases in October of last year, and is included. Detailed service records are available since 2002, which include regular oil changes and preventative maintenance. Major service since I’ve owned the vehicle: 06/07: Replaced serpentine belt 08/07: Replaced radiator (OEM) w/ hoses 07/08: Replaced clutch master cylinder and serviced transmission, differentials, and transfer case. 01/09: Original tires replaced w/ 30-inch BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/As 02/09: Replaced heater hoses and oil pressure sending unit 04/09: 60k service check 06/09: Original top replaced w/ BestTop 10/09: Spark plugs replaced 10/09: New battery installed 05/10: New front brake pads This Jeep is ready to go, as both headlights and both wiper blades were also replaced when the brakes were redone, and an oil change (w/ filter and lube) was performed. I also had the front bumper professionally repainted in May, and some scratches on the hood repaired. Before choosing, I went to three highly recommended paint shops, and these minor cosmetic repairs are unnoticeable (as good bodywork should be). Tires were also balanced and rotated. I would not hesitate to drive this vehicle anywhere, and it is in excellent mechanical condition with no major issues known. It does not leak oil or any other fluids. All gauges and accessories are functional, right down to the original AM/FM stereo cassette player with digital clock. I’ve kept this Jeep highly detailed, and people always think it’s new. It has never been involved in an accident, and never had any rust issues. It is, however, an unrestored 18-year old vehicle, and is not perfect. Vehicle is sold “as-is,” with no warranty expressed or implied. It would make a strong and dependable daily driver, or a perfect fun car and guaranteed future collectible. The mountains and beaches await! The lucky winner will receive clean title to the vehicle, along with a bill of sale. California registration is paid through next April (a $130 value). The vehicle is for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Seller will not arrange shipping, but may be able to assist with loading and coordination. I’m only about ten minutes from San Diego International Airport (SAN), and would be happy to pick up the buyer at a mutually agreeable time. Please contact me to arrange a test drive and showing, or with any further questions over eBay messenger. My name is Jake and I can also be reached at (301) 257-1185 (leave a message if I’m unable to answer). Thanks for looking, and good luck.
