Hello Volvo fans. If you have ever wanted a nice P1800 to drive and enjoy, this one is it! You are bidding on an original 1968 Volvo P1800S with a 4 speed and working overdrive. Body number 25652. I have owned this car for many years and have driven it daily at times. The only reason I am selling it now is because it has always been garage kept and I lost garage space and it is now sitting outside. It is too nice of a car to sit outside in the weather. The car runs, shifts and drives smoothly. The body is in good condition. The interior is also in good condition needing only new carpet (which I have), a new lower dash pad and the white headliner reinstalled (which I had repaired). Over the last three years I have replaced many parts to make the car more pleasurable to drive including all 5 tires (including the spare), installed a new IPD high volume oil pump, removed the non functioning original under dash air conditioning system, replaced the fuel tank (New Volvo) and sending unit, replaced the front windshield (New Volvo), windshield gasket, windshield bright molding and drip rail moldings, replaced the water pump and hoses, replaced belts, had the radiator pressure checked and cleaned, replaced rubber engine and transmission mounts, cleaned and serviced the 4 speed transmission and overdrive unit. I also removed the transmission oil cooler system and installed the correct lines and hoses for a car without a cooler. Rebuilt the distributor, replaced spark plugs, fuel filter, fuel hoses, points and condensor, replaced the plastic transmission speedometer gear with a wear proof metal one, replaced windshield wiper arms etc. The cars still need brake work, suspension bushings and a carburetor tuneup. The speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip odometer and reset, dash lights, oil pressure, oil temperature and coolant temperature gauges and cigarette lighter all work. Interior dome lights work when they want to. The fuel gauge, horn and clock do not. The original AM/FM radio works when it wants to also. The car had some rust repair before I purchased it. It has had a nice pair of new original outer rocker panels installed and the passenger front floor pan has been replaced. I made a patch panel for the battery tray bottom. The only rust that I can see in the car is the small area at the lower quarter panel bottoms right behind both rear wheel openings where they usually rust (a few bubbles), the nose grille area (when I'm under the car and looking up into the nose), and a small area on the passenger front frame rail near the bumper bracket mounting area. As far as paint condition, both sides were painted when the outer rockers were replaced, however the hood, roof and trunk lid still have original red paint. The trunk lid and lip are in good condition and need no repair. All glass is clear and the window regulators and vent windows work. The door locks, trunk lock and fuel filler lid lock works. The windshield wipers work (need new blades). The blower motor works. The seats and tracks are also in good condition. The original jack, bar and mounting wing nut are still with the car. The exhaust tips are in good condition. The exhaust hangs too low on the car and needs to be repositioned. The tail lights, brake lights, reverse lights, turn signal lights and headlights all work. This P1800S also has new VOLVO and S tail panel emblems. I also have the passenger side upper door panel pad that is missing from the photo. Both upper door pads and armrests are in good, soft condition and are original.A new front volvo emblem, new rubber bumper strips, new B pillar seat belt buckle holders and a new correct dash ignition switch and keys.
