Vehicle Detail

No Reserve A great bike for low bucks. Get on it and go. Very fast, not for an inexperienced rider. Back in the day the GS1000 was considered faster and more stable than just about anything out there. I owned a 1979 CBX for 9 years and I'll tell you this thing will blow its doors off. The chassis is very composed and solid as a rock. The brakes are strong, smooth and easy to modulate. When I bought this bike it had just about every high performance modification already done. I changed the fluids, cleaned and adjusted the carbs. and gave it a tune up. I had the tins primed and painted black (the tank did not need it). The pin-striping was hand done by the famous "Big Daddy" George of Staten Island. It likes to be ridden. Gets a little grouchy if you leave it sitting around for a month (like most older bikes do). This is not a problem for me. I love to ride it often. Mileage will be a little higher by the end of the auction (20-30 miles) as I'm getting my last rides in. No funny noises, no leaks and everything works as it should. I'll list all the improvements both as described to me by the previous owner and also what I've done. Most can be verified visually. I have not opened up the engine. No reason to. It's a beast and it pumps a ton of air. Just look at the hole in the back of that Kerker. Deep sound gets you right in the chest, loud enough to be heard but not obnoxious. Chassis Shaft drive (low maintenance) so much horsepower you won't notice any difference, just no chain to adjust, clean and lube. Practically new Metzler Lasertec tires front and rear (still have the nubbies on them), Progressive fork springs, Koni rear shocks, braided brake lines (front and rear), upgraded front master cylinder. Straight and solid. Never crashed. Engine Wiseco kit, Webb cams, Mikuni T38 flat-slide racing carbs, stainless steel valves and valve springs, ported, polished, jet kit to match Kerker pipe, K&N high flow air filters (pods), Barnett clutch springs (alternated with stock for a heavy duty clutch without a gorilla pull at the lever), Electrical Dyna coils and Dyna high-tension leads. Installing the Dyna coils has eliminated the kill switch (just turn off the key). The kill switch is now wired to the starter. This was done as a theft deterrent and can easily be changed back to stock. To start the bike: clutch in, kick stand up and starter on. It starts immediately and warms up quickly. The battery is a no-maintenance gel type. Cosmetics It's a very clean bike. The front fender, side panels and rear cowl have been primed and painted black. They were then hand pin-striped by one of the best in the business "Big Daddy George" (as I mentioned above). The tank did not need re-paint, is very clean inside (no rust whatsoever), has a Pingle petcock and a very small dent that can be seen in the photos. It's leak free. Other custom touches are new seat cover, drag bars with a bit of pull back, custom mirrors and custom aluminum blinkers. Since the pictures I have purchased the round metal Suzuki badge for the left engine case (new from Bike Bandit). I'll try to get a picture up. That's about it. This bike is being sold as it is, where it is, in the lower 48 states. There is no warranty expressed or implied. Shipping is up to the buyer. I'll try to answer all questions quickly via eBay questions. Please ask questions before bidding as all sales are final. Bid with confidence. I have sold many bikes on eBay since 2002 and have perfect feedback. You can also call me on my cell (347) 738-1744 (9AM - 9PM EST). My name is Chris. I reverse the right to end the auction early as the bike is being advertised locally as well. Once a bid is placed I will let the auction run to the end.
