Vehicle Detail
1964 Mini Cooper Mark I, Right Hand Drive, in beautiful condition with no dents, dings or blemishes. Vehicle is perfectly straight with no rust, gleaming paint, and strong mechanicals. Dual tanks, ANSA exhaust, roll cage, dual Zenith Carbs, exhaust header, disc brakes front, dry suspension. The Mini runs strong and has no mechanical or other issues. I have owned this Mini since 1983 when I bought it from the second owner. The car was brought to the States from England by the original owner who was transferred here with IBM. I had a complete 'body off' restoration done on the body in 1984/1985 with all mechanicals removed, glass, interior , etc. New steel was welded in on door hinge areas and the car has absolutely zero bondo or filler. All chrome was new at that time. The body is not of show-winning caliber; I made the decision to make the car look good and use it rather than make it into a show car I would not drive. Pictures show Mini with sliding windows in doors removed, but I have these and they are in perfect condition. The car also comes with a brand new transmission/transaxle assembly (still in the box) that has a lower final drive gear ratio than what is in the car presently. This Mini began life I believe as a 997cc (now has a 1300) engine. Despite the 'S' badging, the car is not an authentic S model. The engine was race built by the original owner and I have a document showing all that was done to the engine. This car has been only used occasionally and has always been stored indoors in my drive-in heated basement for the past 26 years and has never seen the wet or a winter. As I near retirement and plan relocation to a smaller home, I am thinning the fleet so this is why the Mini is for sale. Vehicle resides in New London, NH.
