I have for auction this week a 1953 Chevrolet 4400 logging truck. I aquired this from the gentleman that used it from 1971 until he retired in 2000. It was running when he parked it at that time. It has a 235 cubic inch 6 cylinder engine that turns freely. This truck was well maintained throughout the years. The prior owner built a very clever winch on the rear of the truck. It uses a 3-speed transmission in front of it to really give a variety of speed and torque. I would had liked to restore this truck, but time is not going to permit for me. The truck was originally a forest green, which is still visible on the firewall. It has rust in the usual places from being parked in the elements. It has always been here in NC and has an NC title from 1971. This will be a big project to undertake, but what a unique vehicle it will be when complete. I hope that someone out there appreciates this truck enough to save it from being recycled, but it has to go. If you have any questions, please email me.
