This is my daily driver 88 Chevrolet Caprice Classic. I have owned the car since September 2007 and I am the second owner. I bought it locally at Marlboro Motors with 94,000 miles. Despite the eBay listing saying that this is a 4.3 v6, the car is the original 305 as can be confirmed by the letter H, the 8th digit in the vin #. These cars were optioned with a TBI injected 4.3 (Vin letter Z), a 4 barrel 305 ( Vin letter H), and a 4 barrel 307 (Vin letter Y). I still have the bill of sale in the glove compartment. I also kept every maintenance receipt for the car since I purchased it. The car was inspected this past September and it is good until September 2011. It is a 305 powered civilian model and it has 128,900 miles as of now. I have a daily commute of about 15-20 miles so the mileage will increase slightly over the course of the listing. I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country and I have gotten up to 20 mpg combined. The under body still has a lot of its undercoating. The front end is in great shape. The car has power locks and windows. The A/C worked for the past 3 years but recently the freon leaked out. It is still the original R12 charge so it will be in need of a charge. I have maintained the car religiously and changed the oil every 3000 miles. I did a transmission flush as soon as I bought the car and I did it once again after 30,000 miles. The car is not immaculate, but it is in good shape for its age. I am not a body mechanic but I did a few touch up jobs on the passenger fender and passenger rear door, and the rear quarter panel due to a few dings and rust bubbles. The passenger quarter panel still has a few dings but nothing serious. Other than the already mentioned passenger door/panels, the car has absolutely no rust. The paint on the hood and trunk has become oxidized and is relatively faded in comparison to the rest of the body but there is absolutely no rust on the hood or trunk. They are in beautiful shape despite being faded in comparison to the rest of the car. The car is absolutely clean under the hood as well. The car has been garage kept by the previous owner and I have kept it in my parents garage for the past 3 years. I also have the original owners manual. What I have done to the car: New Exhaust Plugs/Wires/Cap/Rotor New Ac delco starter Professionally installed new headliner as can be seen in the fourth picture. New Ac delco fuel pump Swapped the original hubcaps for the moon/trim ring combo. Water Pump Carburator Rebuild with new Throttle Position Sensor and new choke pull off. Radiator replaced Timing Chain and gear replaced All new brake pads in the front and new shoes in the back I reserve the right to end the auction at any time because it is for sale locally.
