Vehicle Detail
Painted late last year. The previous owner was a GM employee. This is a real SS396. I have the Protecto Plate. Must see to appreciate. Needs minor assembly and finishing. I have too many projects and sadly this must go. New triple plated chrome bumpers. I have the SS396 El Camino badging and the Badges for the Cowl Induction Hood. It has the original SS wheels. Seat is bench and has been re-upholstered. New Carpets. The car is not perfect but runs like a beast and shifts excellent with the 12 Bolt rear end. Under the hood needs detailed, the tool box panel needs painted yet and the window regulators are there but the glass needs attached in the doors before the new door panels are installed. The car has the orginal radio that works. Must see to appreciate. I had an estimate to finish the car by wet sanding and buffing the base coat clear coat paint to make it shine like water, paint the tool box panel and finish the assembly items, stripe the car black out the tail gate and install remainder of trim pieces of $1000 from a reputable shop. I hate to sell it because it is almost finished. I have other projects (house) and that is the only reason I wish to sell. It has been given loving care and needs to be completed but you can drive it anywhere as you work on it since it is reliable. Good luck bidding. You may contact me via Ebay and I will call you with answers to your questions. Thank you.On May-10-10 at 18:13:07 PDT, seller added the following information: It has the original SS guages, it's a real SS396 with matching numbers. It is the original motor #3969854 (375HP). On May-11-10 at 02:11:25 PDT, seller added the following information: The engine code on the Protect O Plate is hard to read. A gentleman was asking me for it so here it is: T1211TW ....I couldn't find the El Camino engine codes online but here is what the Chevelle site listed: CTW 402-4 350-L34 TH-400 ....mine may be the 350HP engine after-all. Please verify on your own...I may have not done enough homework on that point. Thank you. It's raining so I couldn't pull it out from my storage to get real good pics. These do show the general all around condition of the frame and bed. There is the dust and overspray. Needs a good cleaning, zinc oxide wash and POR 15. But it is very respectable for this frame on re-conditioning. I have done no work to the underside aside from replacing brake lines. Needs someone to finish it. Good luck bidding! Thanks for all your interest.
