Everyone always wants to know why you are selling a vehicle (or at least they should want to know). I get to brag a little bit about why this vehicle is for sale. Way back when my oldest daughter was in 1st grade I promised her that if she always got straight A's and was the valedictorian of her high school class, daddy would buy her a brand new car of her choice. Twelve years ago, what were the odds of that happening; never getting even one single B on a report card and being valedictorian of your high school senior class? Well, I apologize for a little fatherly bragging, but that is exactly the reason her Montero is up for sale. She followed through on her part over all these years and now her new car is in the final stages of being built at the factory. Now you know the "why", here is the "what". It's a 1998 Mitsubishi Montero Sport that is pretty well loaded up except without leather. Everything on it works as far as I know except the power antenna. I bought a brand new Mitsubishi OEM power antenna for it but simply have not had time to install it. It will come with the car. The tires on it are like brand new and only have a few thousand miles on them. I wasn't about to let my little girl go through this last winter with tires that weren't knee deep in rubber, so I put new tires all the way around last fall. The Exterior has a few surface rust spots that I tried to get a picture of and there are a few stains in the carpeting inside. It is a twelve year old car so I can't call it perfect. I am an absolute nut about changing oil every 3000k miles on cars under 100k miles and every 2500 miles on cars with over 2500 miles on them. Surprisingly enough, this car has no oil leaks and leaves no spots in the garage floor. However, it does drink about 3/4 of a quart of oil every 2500 miles. It doesn't smoke, even on start or acceleration, but I wanted to be as accurate as possible. With daddy's little girl driving it, I wasn't about to let her out and about with anything I wasn't confident in. It does have the typical fading on the black molding strips etc. as I also tried to picture. I'd honestly consider this car to be in very, very good condition for a 12 year old vehicle with 164k miles on it. I think you could have this vehicle pass for a 64k mile car based on the way it looks, runs and drives. It does have ABS and the factory Infinity CD and cassette player as well. All the 4X4 works great and was extremely helpful this last winter when we had a lot more snow than normal. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We do have a few kids who have said that they wanted her car, but clearly no deal has been made; thus it being put on eBay. I only mention that because I do reserve the right to pull it off of eBay for a local sale if the reserve hasn't been met. If the reserve has been met, any locals will have to bid through eBay to buy her car. It should make someone a great car. We've had great service out of it and I certainly wouldn't be selling it if my daughter hadn't earned herself a brand new car. As I said, just ask if you have any questions.
