Vehicle Detail
THE GOOD: This is a very nice award winning car. 455 Engine has been rebuilt several years ago. Has C heads with large valves, original W-30 exhaust manifolds and original air cleaner. Cam is a little lopey but not sure of specs. Quadrajet is built to 70 specs. Flowmaster mufflers and correct trumpet tips. Turbo 400 trans. freshly rebuilt with mild shift kit. Rear axle is rebuilt , has W-27 cover and is detailed to look like an actual W-27. Rear sway bar, boxed control arms and frame braces are in place. Front power disc brakes. Interior is in great condition. New carpet and seat covers. Brand new convertible top. Original rally pack gauges and steering wheel. Original radio is still in dash and an aftermarket cd player/radio has been mounted underdash. Body has 2 yr. old paint that is absolutely beautiful. dare I say show quality. I mean this body is STRAIGHT. Hood is a Parts Place inc. reproduction. Many hours were spent to make this hood fit like it should. From the outside you cannot tell the difference. Doors, floors, rockers, fenders are original oldsmobile and in great shape. Trunk floor and Quarters have been replaced. Quarters were original GM. Correct W-30 stripes and emblems. Even the spacing on the numerals is correct. Reproduction red fenderwells. Front bumper is new GM and the rear is a new reproduction. Frame has been sandblasted and painted, new body mounts. Frame is in excellent shape. New brake and fuel lines. New fuel tank. THE BAD: Yes it's a tribute, clone ,look alike, whatever you want to call it. Intake manifold is cast iron original painted to look like proper aluminum one. Underside of hood needs to be painted. While the frame is blasted and painted, none of the pits were filled.(not that bad really). Minor underhood detailing needed. THE UGLY: some small rust blisters started under vinyl header at top of windshield frame. ADDED INFO: This car started life as a Cutlass and the hood is a Parts Place Inc. reproduction with a steel frame. Overall this is a really nice car. Runs great and needs nothing but some small detailing projects. I am selling this car for the current owner because I built the car and am very familiar with it. Please feel free to ask questions.
