For sale is a 1988 Subaru GL station wagon 5 speed with 4wd and runs great ( The car has a Virginia atate inspection through May 2011). My Ol' lady has hated this car since I bought it to commute to work 50 miles each way and has finally talked me into selling it after I bought another commuter car. The wagon has a little over 128k on it and I bought it from a friend in May 2008 with 112k. It has run great for me and I have kept maintanence records of everything I have done to the car. The car runs strong but will not be winning any races with its 89hp and 100lb torque but does get around 26mpg. It is a front wheel drive car with 4wd hi and lo which I have used in snow and works very well. I replaced the AM/FM stock radio with a CD player and MP3 output but the radio plug is not connected in the back of the CD player. The main problem with the car is rust around the body but I never cared about it as I was not trying to impress anyone other than save money on my commute to work. Pictures show the rust spots on the car. I have flushed the transmission fluid but the car does grind sometimes when shifting into 3rd gear. Oil has been changed every 3,000 miles since I have had it and the previous owner was very good at keeping up with his cars.
