This beautiful 1971 Porsche 914 is truly a collector’s dream and is collector’s grade. The mileage is Super-Low at just 37,352. The Owner of the car up until last month lived in a 9 room mansion over-looking a Bloomfield Hills Country Club. Owner’s family relocated to Florida. He passed along a very thick hard cover binder with Maint. tips & receipts for work he has done mechanically to the car (I stopped totaling maintenance receipts at over $8800.00 in the last three summers). Here is a partial list: 4 American Racing Porsche Replica 2.0 Polished Wheels 3/28/2007 $619.04 Ignition coil with Braket 4/26/2007 $30.97 Engine Temp Sensors 5/31/2007 $50.75 New Battery 5/31/2007 $57.94 New ignition switch 6/27/2007 $15.77 Dual Exhaust 4 Tips From Pelican Parts 7/24/2007 $289.76 Oil Change And Lubricate Chasis 8/6/2007 $2,340.00 Bosch Spark Plugs, ignition cap, Points, Bosch Spark Plug Wires, fuel filter 8/6/2007 $63.31 Replace front Brake Rotors, Pads 8/6/2007 Replace Rear Shocks 8/6/2007 Clean-repack and adjust wheel bearings 8/6/2007 Fuel Pump with fuel filter 2/7/2008 $77.70 Front Rotors 2/11/2008 $734.65 Rear Rotors 2/11/2008 Front and Rear Brake Pads 2/11/2008 Front Boge/Sachs Shock Inserts 2/11/2008 Rear Boge/Sachs Shocks 2/11/2008 Remove Engine Install new Flywheel 3/29/2008 $3,141.67 Install new Clutch 3/29/2008 Install new Rear Main Seal 3/29/2008 Rear Axle Output shaft Seal 3/29/2008 Repair Oil Ring Seal 3/29/2008 Install New Mallory Distributor 3/29/2008 Install new Crank Seal 3/29/2008 Install New Spark plugs 3/29/2008 Change Oil and Filter 3/29/2008 Install New Weber (2) Dual Carburator Kits 3/29/2008 Install New Fuel Pump for Weber Carbs 3/29/2008 Install Push Button Start 3/29/2008 Rebuild Shifter 8/8/2008 $1,140.00 Install Door, trunk, hood seals 8/8/2008 Repair Alternator Wire Harness 9/12/2008 $262.00 TOTAL $8,823.56 The car is absolutely Rust Free – not rust repaired. The Floors, Under Carriage, Trunk well, Suspension mounts, Rockers, Under Battery box area and frontal hood compartment are Rust Free. It is amazing to see how every wheel well on this car and every fender lip are perfect. The paint has minor chips and scratches but looks very nice with nice patina. The cars interior is very nice but the seats have some tears. The Targa top felt is like new, the dash board is beautiful with no cracks and the carpets look fantastic. The under hood and trunk compartment areas are pictured and look almost as clean as the day the car was delivered brand new. The car has had its brake system addressed new rotors and pads, New Clutch and shifter rebuild, beautiful and good running Dual Weber Carburators, New Shocks all around, New rear main seal and crank seals, New ignition coil , Spark plug wires, New Mallory Distributor, New Weather seals around doors, Trunk, Hood and windows, New Targa top felt and much more all this over the last three summers totaling at least $8800 I stopped cataloging the receipts at this point. This vintage 914 was never the smoothest shifting Porsche but this one has a new Clutch and rebuilt shifter. The car has a nice touch added –discreetly tucked under the dash there is a push button start for extra security. (key must be in the ignition and turned to start). The car runs and drives very well. The car has an excellent running original 1.7Liter engine and with the like new Dual Weber carbs and newer exhaust it sounds EXCELLENT. The tires are Performance Toyo Tires and the Wheels are Amazing looking in like new condition and polished accents. This is truly a collector’s grade 914 and a fine addition to any Porsche collection. PLEASE SEE OUR OTHER INTERESTING SPORTS CARS !
