1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Hardtop 4 door sedan Police car. 352 V-8 bigblock with factory 4 bbl and dual exhaust. 3 speed manual tranny. The engine and many other parts including the clutch were overhauled and or serviced to new spec in November 2009 and then the car was stored for winter. I have about 500 miles on it since rebuild. Invoice posted at bottom of description shows the work. A 12000 mi/1yr engine warranty is included with car. Though that might not help someone buying it a long ways from here. The shop is an honest straight forward facility and they would take care of you in some fassion should warranty work be needed , I am confident of that. It should provide some peace of mind having a doccument warrany. The Dietz bubble and Federal siren work perfect and have been rebuilt. An old and very rare rear facing chrome radar unit is installed on drivers side passenger rear window. This is the kind with the telescope sight to aim at a vehicle with the officer working stationary radar standing outside his cruiser. A shotgun rack with an inoperable riot gun (Savage Stevens) and non working radio complete the interior. Red lense covers on 2 headlights and whip antenae compliment the exterior. Decals can be changed to what you want. It is a country squad for now. This Ford has power steering and working factory air which blows cold. The gauges all work including the fuel gauge and the gas tank is new. Brakes were redone before I got it a year ago and the lines were even replaced. The car has been modified with 15" factory wheels and attractive chrome dog dishes. Full size spare with era correct trunk accessories and jack. I have a mint spare dog dish hubcap as well. For the purists that know their old Fords, the 64 Galaxie was stock with 14" These heavy duty wheels and new 215 tires give it a pretty cool look. The exhaust has a very nice tone. I have video of that and the siren and lights for you to review. In the trunk I have the parts to replace the front end with disc brakes should you want to make that upgrade. The car goes down the road straight, the brakes are effective and adjusted just right. Tranny and differential were inspected at engine rebuild and flushed and changed out. Radiator was removed and cleaned in a tank and then pressure tested. Some of these old cars ran hot so I wanted the cooling system perfect. Exhaust is solid with no leaks. The car came from Alabama and I bought it from the 2nd owner a year ago. It is very clean and solid with minimal rust. The paint job in my opinion is not show quality but does the job for me and everyone who sees it. The bumpers are not perfect with some flaking. All the chrome is there and shines. The emblems and front grill and headlight shrouds are excellent. I purchased this to use as a D.A.R.E. drug education car though my local police department where I work as a part time LEO. Changes in administration, budget reductions in small govt, and other directions I want to go at the moment are the reasons for me selling. In summary the car is a headturner and everyone that sees it loves it. I talk about totally restoring it and most people say why?? It looks good now and with the few inperfections, it looks like it just went off duty 10-7 from 1964. I will be happy to answer questions and take more photos if you like. FYI I had this car shipped by one of the many vehicle transport services from Florida to MN for $550. This also included insurance. One additional note. This car is not an original cruiser. It is a reproduction. I would not want an original because I know how I drive our real squad cars. They get heavy use and are driven by people that don't own them. Good luck in the bidding.
