Vehicle Detail

This Ambassador SST 2-Door Hardtop is a rare find indeed! I bought it from the original owner recently and had been in dry storage for the past 30+ years. It has been well preserved and taken care of. NO MICE. NO RUST EVER! This is a true survivor, not restored like so many people try to push off as survivors. The only thing cosmetically replaced was the headliner, which had come unglued from age. The 343 V-8 with 4-barrel carb. has 22,300 actual miles. When you see it and the condition of everything, you will know it is actual. Runs great and shifts great. Car was undercoated when new. Has AC but not cooling. May need charged or compresser work. Interior- Excellent original seats, door panels and carpet in silver vinyl and fabric combo. Dash is excellent with NO cracks. Headliner material was replaced due to glue coming loose over the years. Trunk is clean with original mat. No rust issues anywhere on this car. Exterior-Excellent original Teal paint with woodgrain side trim and original white vinyl top. Bumpers and trim are all excellent. Mechanical-Replaced all brake wheel cylinders and master cylinder with new ones. Installed NOS gas tank.(Trunk floor above gas tank is excellent) . Replaced plugs, points, condenser, rotor, cap plug wires and battery. All the usual things that go bad sitting for years. Needs tires due to flat spot thumping when driving, from sitting in one spot so many years! As I stated, I purchased this car recently from the original owner and you won't find a nicer original 1969 than this one. It is almost like showroom condition. This car should be in a museum or in the hands of a serious AMC collector who will really appreciate it. Clear title in hand. I can furnish any pictures you might want. Call with any questions. Gary 402-873-7410 On Apr-28-10 at 18:02:54 PDT, seller added the following information: The picture of the rear of the car makes the rear bumper chrome look bad. This is only a reflection of the cracked driveway it is on. The chrome on the bumper is in excellent condition. On Apr-29-10 at 13:38:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Tires ride smooth now. I let some air out and they ride better. I still would not drive too far on these very old tires. On Apr-29-10 at 14:43:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I thought I should point out two minor flaws in right front fender. There is a funny shaped scratch on the side below the marker light lens. It might be able to be rubbed out and blended in, not too deep. On top of the same fender there is a small area that has a stain in the finish. That too may be able to rub out. Very minor flaws, but, I want to make sure it is known. I took a picture of each area. Trying not to hide anything. Still a great original car. It has the original Dealer decal on the trunk, Modern Rambler, Tabor, Iowa.
