1981 V W Rabbit P/U. Solid and complete, but not running. Item is one of two purchased as lot, with the intent of removing the engine from one of them for use in my vehicle. My intent was to remove the good engine, salvage whatever else I wanted, and junk them. Further cosiderations cause me to decide to sell the two vehicles intact (less work for me). This is one of the two vehicles. This one is complete, solid, but not running. The previous owner stated that the engine had thrown a rod. I haven't opened the engine (or anything else for that matter), but am simply selling it as is where is. The only info I have is what I was told by the previous owner and I have no confirmation of any of it. The mileage is as stated on the odometer, but I have no knowledge of how accurate that is. There is only some surface rust, no sign of major collisions or repair, and I believe the glass is all good. I believe it is a 5 speed. It might be of interest to someone who want's to take on a project, but that's not me (I'm 73 ). The vehicle does have A/C I believe. It is located about 250 miles from where I live (it's near Chico, Ca) hence my reluctance to undertake a project (Moving costs, hassle, etc, just make me tired). I have removed the good engine from the other vehicle and will be putting it on ebay soon, with the same type of conditions. It is for sale locally, but the high bidder will be responsible for picking it up or making arrangements to do so. I reserve the right to pull it off ebay if it is sold before the auction ends. I would like a $200 deposit via pay pal within 24 hours of the auction close, and the remainder upon pick up of the vehicle. If you would like to see the vehicle, I can make arrangements for you to do that (location address and contact person for instance.) I will answer any question you may have to the best of my ability, or say I don't know if I dont. On Apr-26-10 at 11:07:14 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: I have just been informed by the previous owner that he promised the cylinder head to someone. I'm not too happy with that, but what is done is done, so I guess it will be without a cylinder when you get it.. The head may not have been any good, anyway (Sour grapes?) Sorry.
