Vehicle Detail
I have up for sale/auction my Silver 2005 Pontiac Vibe which comes as shown below in the actual photo. I am the owner and got the vehicle in 2006 from Ohio. The title is mine and in my name for easy transfer to the buyer. The car has 85,600 miles and a clean title. The Vibe features an automatic transmission, black interior, power windows and doors, cruise control, and a 4-cylinder engine, which is the same reliable engine that you will find in the Toyota Matrix, the Vibe’s sister vehicle. In fact, the Vibe and the Matrix both look the same on the inside and use all the same parts. The reason I am selling the car is because my wife and I need the money and so are willing to sacrifice one of our two vehicles. There are positives and negatives, so I will go through both to the best of my ability. The positives are that the engine and transmission run cleanly, never having to be repaired, and the air conditioning blows cold air. I even had a full tune up with oil change done on the car last month, which cost me around $250. I also had four new tires put on the car about 6 months ago. The negatives are as follows: The car will need the body work around the rocker panel area re-done due to some bad welding thatas done by a local body shop. Roughly three years ago, the car sustained damage to the left-hand side (driver’s side) rocker panel area (the area between the front and rear doors on the driver’s side) from an accident, which I then had repaired at a local body shop (whose name I will not mention). Unfortunately, the body shop turned out to do shoddy work and did a horrible job welding in the replacement rocker panel. The driver side rear door was also replaced with a whole new door, and there was some damage to the corner of the front driver’s door which was repaired. The body shop that did the repairs to the area around the driver’s side rocker panel did a terrible job with all the welding (see photos), so all of that is going to have to be re-done. I have been told that it will take about $1500-$2000 of work at a reputable body shop to re-do all the welding and repair the rocker panel area. Unfortunately, due to my lack of funds, I have not been able to have those repairs done to make the car look the way it is supposed to, so I have been driving it as is. (NOTE: For photo purposes, I have removed some of the interior paneling around the rocker panel area to give you a better idea of what the welding looks like. By the way, the doors do open and close.) When the body shop was doing the welding, they also unfortunately ruined the cable that opens the gas tank from the inside of the car, so I have bought a new replacement cable, which I have not had installed yet, but which I will include with the car. They also ruined the interior carpet around the area of the rocker panel. (It looks to me like they may have burned the carpeting when doing the welding and then cut out the burned piece, so that is going to have to be replaced which will cost $150 to $200.) I am also including a new interior headliner, since the one currently inside the car has some stains from the mechanics who worked on the rocker panel area. I also have all the interior paneling for the rocker panel area which I am including, along with a new middle hinge for the driver’s side door. (Both driver’s side doors are going to need replacement exterior body panels. I have all new clips for the panels which I will also include. You can find parts like these on car-part.com.) One of the air bag lights is on for some reason as well, although both air bags are installed and in place on the vehicle. Also, just recently the windows stopped working for some reason, and the doors have to be opened manually with the key because the remote on the key will not unlock or lock them. One last thing to mention is that there is some minor panel damage around the passenger side headlight (see photo) from some jackass backing into the car in January while I was parked in a local shopping center. With all this being said, please understand that I am selling the vehicle as shown, as is, as a Final Sale. The car is located in Hallandale, Florida, where I live. The winning bidder can pick it up, or I can help arrange for transporting the vehicle to wherever you are within the continental U.S. since I have a friend who has connections to the dispatch for the local car transportation companies. (Transportation scheduling and transportation costs are ultimately the buyer’s responsibility.) Do not bid if you are not living in the United States. I will not ship the car outside of the U.S. The winning bidder is expected to send a $500 down payment through Paypal within 48 hours of the end of the auction. The rest of the money for the vehicle must be paid in cash or via a cashier’s check or certified check or bank transfer. I will not accept the total amount for the vehicle via Paypal, only the initial nonrefundable $500 deposit/down payment. The title will only be handed over/ transferred over to the buyer into his or her name once payment is made in full. Please ask all questions you have before the end of the auction, not after. If you are the winning bidder, you are expected to pay for your purchase, not make things contingent on additional questions, or you inspecting the car, etc., as you had ample time beforehand to ask questions and/or to view the multiple photos of the vehicle. (While I do not have the car listed locally, I will also entertain reasonable offers for it prior to the end of the auction, and reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time.) Good luck to all bidders.
