Vehicle Detail
This is a beautiful 2003 Volkswagon Passat W8 4Motion (all wheel drive). It is loaded with every option available in this model, automatic with the Triptronic SlapShift. The exterior is a very flashy Cobalt Blue; the paint is still very shiny and waxes up very nicely. There are some very minor scuffs and scratches which are typical for a car six years old, but not noticeable to show up in pictures. One taillight has a small piece missing (see the pic) at the top, and one headlight has some moisture behind it (see pic) which does not seem to affect the functionability of the light. The interior is black leather and in very nice condition, with a woodgrain dash and digital readout and blue lit gauges. It shows temperature, mileage driven, mileage left on available gas, average speed, and time driven since last start. This is a very quick car, runs and drives excellent. It is an amazing comfortable car and the interior is in fantastic shape. There is a Monsoon single CD stereo with a six speaker sound system. The rear window has a tinted shade that pulls down. The tires are about 50%, I would replace them with winter tires and this car would go anywhere with the 4Motion feature. We bought this car about a year ago and have not put it on the road, as we have three other cars currently in use. We decided to sell it rather than have it sit for another year. It has been started regularly and driven a few miles once a week or so to keep everything lubed up and operational. The engine light comes on sporatically and then goes off again - which our mechanic says is a self-diagnostic feature of Passats. There seems to be an electronic issue with the transmission or the sensor that controls the anti-slip/traction that has shown up within the past week in the form of an idiot light that was not on before. We are having it diagnosed, but will not be fixing it prior to sale. The price reflects this glitch - someone out there probably knows exactly what it is doing as the W8's all seem to develop this at some point in time. It is a very fast and impressive vehicle to drive, and originally booked new at $36,825.00, so our price of $5,000.00 is not unreasonable :-). UPDATE: The diagnosis is a transmission control module - which apparently took on water (a common problem for the W8's) and is a 10 minute fix once I get the part. The new part is $1100 from Volkswagen but I am looking for a used or aftermarket TCM. We are listing the car at $5000 AS IS CURRENTLY, but after the car is repaired, I will not take less than $6,500.00 as this is a high-end car and worth far more. This car is being sold "as is". BIDS FROM BUYERS WITH ZERO FEEDBACK WILL BE CANCELLED UNLESS YOU CONTACT US BEFORE YOU BID WITH YOUR CONTACT INFORMATION. We have this for sale locally, and reserve the right to end this auction early if it should sell. Terms are $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours via PayPal, balance in cash or wire transfer within 7 days. The car does not have to be picked up within 7 days, we have plenty of room and can keep the car here as long as arrangements are made ahead of time and the balance of the selling price has been paid in full. By bidding, you are agreeing to the terms of this auction as stated heretofore. If the car has not been paid in full within 7 days, we will relist the car and you will forfeit your deposit. We are very easy to work with, as long as there is good communication. PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION. THE CAR IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION AT ANY PRE-ARRANGED TIME PRIOR TO THE END OF THE AUCTION AND WE ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO COME AND TAKE A LOOK. Check our feedback - we try to honestly describe our items and have no unhappy customers so far. Please email with any questions or for more pictures! Not sure what the accident report is on the carfax thing - I have been over this car with a fine tooth comb and find nothing wrong. The couple we bought it from purchased it at the end of their lease, so that is the 'special use' report.
