Vehicle Detail
This CBX has been in my museum for the last few years along with about sixty other collector bikes. I believe the CBX has a great potential for appreciation. It is also a wonderfull vintage bike to ride. The Honda Six has a sound like no other. Wherever you ride this bike you will be constantly asked about it's engine. There is another '79 CBX in the collection which I thought was just too perfect to ride regularly, so I bought this one to ride, and I have done so. I'm now reducing the collection by selling the bikes of which I have duplicates. There has been no restoration on this CBX. It still wears it's original Honda paint, and has the original seat. The paint shows very little wear and the body work has no dents. The seat has no holes or tears and has not faded as many have. One of the most important items on any early CBX is the Honda exhaust system. This bike has an original CBX Honda system. The factory stamped numbers indicate the mufflers are from the year 1980. They are identical to the '79 items other than the factory numbers. They have absolutely no rust. The engine, trannsmission, and drive train are very quite, with no rattles, smoke, or leaks. The battery and tires are recent replacements. Included in the sale is a period built Corbin seat. It is more comfortable than stock but just doesn't look "right" to me. Buy the bike and you can decide. The photos accurately represent the overall condition of the bike. The bike has a Georgia title and is currently registered and licensed. The reserve is reasonable for such an example and will not be disclosed. I will accept cash in person, wire transfers, and pre-approved cashiers checks. The bike will not leave my property untill any and all checks have cleared. I will not crate or ship the bike, however if you use Federal Allied motorcycle shippers they will pick up the bike at my door. I'm including a couple of photos of the museum where the bike has lived. Please do not ask about ANY other bikes for sale. They will be listed on ebay as they come up for sale. Good luck on your bidding, you'll not be disapointed in this CBX . On May-14-10 at 03:53:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Someone asked if the engine has ever been painted. I had never looked closely before since it appears to be so perfect. After examination I think the engine has at least some parts that have been painted at some time in it's life. It a REALLY good job. I would not have noticed if I'd not been asked. The tank, seat base, and front fender all have the paint Honda put on in 1979. The inside of the tank has no rust at all and has never had any type of coating inside. The carbs were synched by our shop when we got the bike, it still runs perfectly. Another question was regarding any "chain slap" noise, which is pretty common in most CBX's. This bike has no timing chain noise at all. The bike runs perfectly and everything works as it should, both mechanically and electrically.
