Get your wife's (or husband's) permission prior to bidding or after the car is paid in full and picked up. Now for the more interesting facts... 1961 Imperial Crown 4 door hardtop. Very straight solid rust free dream car from a wonderful period in time. Car is unrestored but, still in very good condition and very presentable for it's age. 61 is the most flamboyant and interesting styled of all the Imperials (all other cars for that matter) in my opinion. These cars are getting very scarce.. So here's your chance to own a fine example. 413 engine is the original. It has not been overhauled and is probably getting a bit tired but, still runs strong and does not leak, knock or overheat in the least. Always starts right up! Exhaust system is less then a year old and clear and real quiet. Carb, valve cover gasket, fuel pump, starter, exhaust system and alternator have all been rebuilt or replaced within the past 3-4 years. I had the transmission overhauled a year ago, I did notice some transmission fluid drips on the garage floor. I believe its nothing serious, I will attempt to have that looked at but, can't guarentee I will have that sorted out. Tires are all very good (x5). Could probably stand to have some suspension work done but, still decent & rides good. Shocks are all in great shape. Interior I had completely redone using very close to and/or correct materials. This is the same colors and patterns as the original that came with this car. A high quality job using fine n.o.s. fabrics and silver toned vinyls. Headliner, door panels, carpet, windlace etc. all new! Looks like 1961 all over again. The dash I have not done much to. Has some cracks but, has custom carpet cover fabricated looks good. Interior chrome all very nice or better. The car will need new weather stripping in the doors and trunk sooner or later. Trunk liner, jack etc is the original and in exellent 50 year old shape. Car has older repaint, "Shell" is the color still looks great (car I believe was born with a black/dark blue? paint job). Chrome and stainless are original and over all very nice or better! Grill shell has a slight bend, you can only notice it if you are looking at it from certain angles(see photo). Floors are all solid original (see trunk photo). Note, this car is equipped with the optional stainless steel roof scallop inserts, dual side view mirrors and flyte swept decklid. Car is equipped with Air Conditioning, auto pilot, power windows and much more. I have not really gotten into the AC to check it out but, it's all there looks decent and should be able to get working again with some time and money. Power windows all work pretty well. I had installed a quality CD/mp3 player and radio w/remote control located on top of the most forward section of drive tunnel (under center of dash). It is actually unobtuse, as it blends in well and sounds wonderful to boot! The speakers are all discreetly and well mounted without any holes cut/drilled. Speedometer not currently working although the other instrumentation all works well. Dash, interior and exterior lighting all work. I lost the door key but, if I locate it -will go with the deal (trunk lock NOS). Car has clear California title and is currently registered. No your not going to fly in from New York and drive it back seeing all the sights on the way. This car is nearly 50 years old! It does run good but, it's old. The farthest I ever drove it is probably about 160 mile round trip. No problems however. Nice car, people love it. Yes, it does start run, and drive good. Looks beautiful. Deposit ($500.00) due within 24 hrs via PayPal, BALANCE IN FULL WITHIN 5 DAYS. Cash or Wire transfer fine. Up to 30 days to remove the car. Please hire an outfit that specializes in hauling classic cars, so not to hurt it. Located in Hemet Ca. 92544 (about 70 miles East from L.A., San Pedro, Wilmington ports). Seller reserves the right to end the auction early. Need the garage space, this car should go. Vehicle is described to the best of my ability. You are welcome to ask questions, please check the listing first to be sure it is not already addressed.
