Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1955 Willys CJ5. Where do I start? First a little history. This vehicle was owned by a local manufacturing company and may have been bought new buy them. It was used as a utility vehicle for plant maintenance by them. In the mid 70's the company bought a corporate aircraft and the jeep was sent to the airport to pull the King Air airplane in and out of the hangar. The Chief Pilot was was very fussy man and the Jeep was kept inside the hangar and was lavished with the same kind of maintenance the plane was required to have. This is the life this little Jeep has had from the 70s to June 2009. In a heated hangar, with periodic maintenance. Now some mechanical history while it was at the airport and within the last 500 miles it has had the following in chronological order:Springs and shackles rebuilt, L4 Go-Devil engine rebuilt, new clutch and pressure plate, Lock out hubs, stainless steel exhaust and Borla muffler ( except for header pipe), New front and rear brakes to include, shoes, cylinders, lines and hoses, soft top and doors (installed in 1985). Since I have owned it (August 2009) I have: Rebuilt all of the steering system to include steering gear box, worm and sector, drag link , bellcrank assembly, new steering wheel with horn button, serviced the front and rear axle with new lubricants, 4 new shocks, sand blasted 5 wheels then primed and painted each, installed 4 new mud and snow tires. I want mention it has a operating period heater. Some of the things left to do are: Turn signals do not work ( it did not originally have them and they were put on at a later date and are not required in Pa for antique use. The transmission shifts smoothly and is quiet but will slip out of 2nd gear only when decelerating A new overhauled tranny will cost you less than $600.00 including shipping if you want to replace it. Its not a huge issue and I just keep a little pressure on it when it in 2nd gear. W/S wiper Arm needs a new spring The body has some rust repair and a couple of perforations that are small and easily fixed, but the body is pretty decent for a 55 year old Jeep. Look at he pictures and Please ask questions to Larry 7174510552. Jeep is located near I81&I70 in South Central Pa. It drives very nicely on the highway and off road. It is ready for a PA inspection and I was going to put a antique tag on it. I am selling this Jeep because I have too many projects. $200.00 PayPal deposit at end of sale, Cash or USPS M/O at pickup within 7 days. If its not as I describe when you pick it up your deposit will be Cheerfully refunded, minus Ebay and payPal fees. No reserve! Please check out my feedback. I would like to add that what looks like rust in the floor pan is actually just paint that has peeled. The passenger side floor has a nicely done repair panel made from Galvinized sheet metal and that is where the paint has peeled. The other two rust spots are small area behind pass. seat ( pictured) and a spot above left rear fender inside the bed. As early CJ's go this vehicle has very little rust. You won't be disappointed.
