I purchased it to commute to Russellville, AR. From Witts Springs. That is about 60 miles and over 1000 ft elevation change. The truck got 33 mpg. Consistently driving up to 70, but usually 55-60 mph. The job is over now in Russellville and I no longer need the truck. The truck has rust on the frame. One side has been plated with 10ga. And plug welded. I believe it is a good repair. If it scares you, do not bid on it. I personally do not have a problem with it dancing around these country roads and the bed is welded to the frame which further reinforces it. SPEEDOMETER WORKS, BUT MILEAGE IS UNKNOWN Below is list of parts I have replace to make it road worthy. · Water pump and hoses · Timing belt · Radiator was repaired · Block heater, · Windshield, · High dollar wiper blades. · Lights, parking lights and dash bulbs as needed. · Heater core. Please note the heater levers do not work on the dash. I installed a fan switch which gives you high blower and I reach under the dash to change control position. The heater works really well , all defroster duct work is in place. · Rear shocks · Air filter, fuel filters etc. · Seats are really comfortable and were taken out of a Honda. They have good form and not "beaten out by a gorilla" like some others. · New rear brakes, cylinders and one new drum. · Added electric fuel pump Paint job is not the best, but it is automotive paint. Truck has Power steering, but no air cond. Flat bed is light weight but sturdy. It is built from 1x1 steel tubing and 10ga. top. bed size is: 5' x 7'. Tail gate is welded and does not hinge, but it could easily be altered. Truck will leak a spot of oil after a hard run about the size of a silver dollar. this comes from the road draft tube, not engine leak. It will blow black smoke if you are in a hard pull up a hill, but not on normal run. Engine starts perfectly cold and hot, glow plug circuits work, dash lights work, license tag light works, transmission shifts properly, (5 speed) Truck drives straight, has power steering, stops straight, radio works, speakers behind the seat, clutch is smooth, lights and turn signals work, wipers work, horn works, interior cab light does not work. I drove the truck daily 120 mile round trips for several weeks. I would feel comfortable driving it to Memphis if I had a need. I welded tie downs in the bed to strap long stuff like lumber or plywood. Tool box goes with it. Console between the seats is a cardboard box. No extra charge.
