Vehicle Detail

I am selling the following vehicle for parts or repair. It does run and drive but needs a lot of TLC. I drove this car daily for almost 5 years until April 9, 2010. This is the rare SPG model (known as the 900 AERO in Sweden and Europe). Due to it's condition it would be best for parts, but to the right person who knows these cars and would be willing to spend some money on it, this could be a great restoration project. 1988 SAAB 900 SPG. 4 cylinder turbo with a 5 speed manual transmission. Edwardian gray with gray leather interior. This car will need at least a complete exhaust to be roadworthy...everything from the front pipe back including the cat. The front pipe is there but the flange where it would meet the cat is gone. Left cv joint is clicking on turns and will need to be replaced. The speedometer cable is broken. The odometer reads 123,000, same as the day I bought it in August 2005. I estimate this car has over 250,000 miles. The engine still runs good and strong. I had the timing chain replaced in 2005. The transmission is good, but it will pop out of reverse if you dont hold it in. People who know SAABs will know this was a common issue with these cars as they got a lot of miles on them. The headliner has mostly fallen out...also a common occurence in these models. Sunroof motor doesn't work either. Left fender has rot as well as some other small spots. The paint is in rough shape. Tires are a year old and still have good tread left on them. Please contact me with any other questions or if you would like more specific pictures. This car would be best for parts or for someone who knows this car and would be willing to spend some money on restoration Winning bidder will be responsible for transporting the vehicle after the sale. Apparently this car had a salvage title back in 1994. This was unknown to me until I posted this auction and read the free car report. Obviously the car must have been rebuilt. This car has been driven 200,000 or more miles since then. The Massachusetts title I have is clear and says nothing about being a salvage or a rebuild. On Apr-15-10 at 04:45:17 PDT, seller added the following information: Also, the engine picture doesn't show it, but I do have the A/C compressor. I had the water pump replaced a couple years ago and the compressor had to be removed. Since the A/C wasn't working anyway, the mechanic didn't reinstall it.
